It was all done on purpose by Raelynn.
Especially for the Croix Family, who valued their family honor and reputation above all else. Now that it was exposed she was the ex-fiancée of Sebastian's younger brother, how could they publicly accept her?
Raelynn acted as if she didn't see Seraphina's glare.
She sat in her designated seat.
The fact that Sebastian was still appearing here today, openly defying the Croix family and pairing up with Seraphina, was simply his ironclad way of showing that he was dead set on her.
From the moment Raelynn walked through the door.
Sebastian hadn't looked up, showing zero interest in her arrival.
Sierra Yves was sitting right next to Raelynn. She couldn't help but look back and forth between Raelynn and Sebastian across the room.
Being part of that social circle, she had inevitably heard some explosive gossip from friends.
Including how Raelynn publicly cut ties with the Croix family.
She also understood their current relationship dynamics.
When she looked at Seraphina, she couldn't hide her indignation.
She muttered without thinking, "Why is he sitting so far away and not even greeting you? Like you're strangers..."
Realizing what she had just said, Sierra's face filled with immediate regret. She carefully observed Raelynn's expression.
Raelynn didn't react at all.
Sierra fidgeted uneasily, knowing she had misspoken. She scratched her head, then pulled a ticket out of her bag and handed it to Raelynn, whispering, "Professor Ortiz, this is a ticket for an antique shop. It's incredibly hard to get. Do you want to go see it? Can I give this to you?"
Raelynn met Sierra's eyes.
She understood that Sierra was trying to apologize and cheer her up, attempting a roundabout way to avoid poking at her "sore spots."
She glanced at the ticket.
The building and storefront printed on it were entirely too familiar.
She stared at it for a moment before saying, "This is my family's shop. It was my mother's premarital property."
Sierra was stunned.
She said in pleasant surprise, "Professor Ortiz, you come from a family of scholars! Should we go together then?"
