Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 516

Raelynn was momentarily choked up, completely unable to answer.

Alistair saw right through the situation. "A powerful man like him has countless wealthy women throwing themselves at him. Yet he willingly registered a child under his own name, taking the public hit of having a daughter out of wedlock. Now, he's willing to cooperate with you, help you fight for custody, and burn his first marriage—all just to be a nice guy?"

Raelynn remained silent, her mind racing.

Alistair hummed knowingly. "The Hudson family isn't easy to enter, and it's even harder to leave. If you two decide to get married, stop overthinking it and just focus on living a good life together. Lily already accepts him as her dad anyway."

That left Raelynn without a counterargument.

She realized she had been subconsciously avoiding the deeper implications of Ian's actions.

"It's not a bad thing," she finally murmured. "Even if I end up in a public war with the Croix family, at least Mr. Hudson can provide a safe haven."

Alistair understood Ian well enough.

He knew the man was steady and reliable.

He was deeply committed to Lily.

That was more than enough in his book.

"At the very least, he stepped up and did exactly what Sebastian failed to do."

Alistair didn't push the matter further.

After he hung up, Raelynn rubbed her temples, a dull ache forming.

She honestly didn't know if this choice was right or wrong. So often in life, her decisions were made out of pure survival.

But the one silver lining...

Sebastian had shown absolutely zero reaction to the news of her remarrying.

While it stung on some level to be so easily dismissed, his coldness at least guaranteed he wouldn't interfere with her marrying Ian and securing Lily's custody.

Pushing the complicated thoughts aside, Raelynn focused on editing her thesis. She planned to submit it within the next forty-eight hours.

Later that afternoon...

Her phone rang.

She answered without checking the caller ID.

"Raelynn? Are you busy? Do you have some free time today?" Cordelia's warm voice came through the speaker.

Raelynn immediately took off her reading glasses. "Mrs. Hudson?"
