Raelynn decided not to bother changing rooms.
Since Sebastian had already vacated the suite to avoid any awkwardness, why should she inconvenience herself?
Raelynn slept through the night.
True to form, Sebastian never came back.
Today's event was scheduled to start at ten in the morning.
Chloe Hudson was currently on her way over.
Raelynn got dressed and headed out.
She met Chloe at the entrance to the resort's event hall.
Chloe was still clutching her laptop, furiously putting together a presentation. They had agreed to come here to relax, but Chloe just couldn't tear herself away from work.
Raelynn led Chloe inside to find their seats.
Today's art and antiquities event featured both a viewing exhibition and a live auction.
They had barely sat down when a staff member hurried over, leaning in with an apologetic smile. "Excuse me, ladies. I'm so sorry, but these seats are reserved for our absolute top-tier VIP guests today. I'm afraid you'll have to move further back."
Chloe barely glanced up from her screen. "This is Table 6, isn't it? We're in the right spot."
The staff member looked frantic. "Yes, but the name cards were placed incorrectly. I really must ask you to move..."
Raelynn didn't want to make the poor guy's life difficult; she knew how hard customer service could be.
"It's fine, we'll move back," she said smoothly.
Chloe grumbled under her breath, grabbing her laptop and standing up. "Who do these big shots think they are, throwing their weight around like this?"
Raelynn didn't let it bother her.
Every social circle had a hierarchy; that was just the way the world worked.
They had just settled into their new seats.
When a massive commotion erupted at the side entrance.
The auction house manager practically sprinted over to greet the new arrivals personally.
It caused quite a stir in the room.
Raelynn looked over.
And saw Sebastian and Seraphina surrounded by an eager crowd.
Seraphina was clinging to Sebastian's arm, her smile bright and radiant as she graciously acknowledged everyone greeting them.
Sebastian led her straight to the exact seats Raelynn and Chloe had just been kicked out of.
The two of them moving together so seamlessly was basically a public declaration of their relationship.
Seraphina's gaze flicked over to Raelynn, dripping with contempt, before she turned back to Sebastian with a brilliant smile, leaning in close to whisper in his ear.
Intimately murmuring to him in front of everyone.
They looked incredibly cozy.
Sebastian listened quietly, a faint, indulgent smile playing on his lips.
