Thank God Chloe was keeping her voice down.
Raelynn was seriously worried that Chloe's sharp tongue was going to get her into major trouble one day.
She knew Sebastian wasn't the type to argue with a woman, but Seraphina was a different story. If Seraphina heard her and threw a fit, Sebastian would definitely step in to defend her feelings, and things would get extremely ugly, very fast.
Raelynn silently shoved a glass of mango juice into Chloe's hand to keep her mouth busy.
Chloe was so angry she felt like her chest was going to explode.
She knew Raelynn was trying to keep the peace, but she couldn't resist one last jab. "If she loves putting on a show this much, why doesn't she just drag a bed onto the stage and go at it? That would really give the crowd a thrill."
She was genuinely worried Raelynn was going to give herself an ulcer from holding it all in.
But Raelynn had reached a state of numb acceptance.
She turned her gaze back to the front.
Since the vase was for Blanche, Sebastian was throwing money around like it was nothing, driving the price up to ensure they won.
Gasps of awe rippled through the crowd.
Raelynn was forced to sit there and watch exactly how deeply Sebastian pampered and spoiled Seraphina.
Envious whispers echoed from every direction, drilling into her ears.
"I've never heard of Mr. Croix having a serious girlfriend before. This Ms. Vance must be the one."
"She's the only exception he's ever made. We'd better make sure we're on her good side if we see her around."
"Look! Are they using matching phone cases?"
Raelynn instinctively glanced at the table in front of her.
Whether it was intentional or not, Seraphina had placed her phone face down on the table, showing off the back. And Sebastian, busy as always, was constantly taking calls, making his own phone case completely visible.
Raelynn hadn't expected that.
A man like Sebastian actually using matching accessories with Seraphina.
And something as trivial as a phone case, at that.
He used to hate cases, always complaining they felt bulky in his hand.
She clearly remembered the incident with the license plate—the absolute disgust he'd shown before he had the number changed that very day.
Back when she still had hope for their marriage, she had bought them matching watches.
Sebastian had just glanced at them and coldly asked, "Raelynn, how old are you?"
Implying that matching couple items were for stupid teenagers.
And yet, here he was.
Raelynn took a slow sip of her mango juice.
Realizing, once again, that the rules were entirely different depending on who you were.
She had no desire to watch her husband publicly romance another woman for a second longer. She was thoroughly bored and ready to leave.
