The former chairman of the Croix family was known for being far more ruthless and unyielding. If this escalated to his grandfather, things would get incredibly messy.
At the mention of the old man's name, Sebastian finally lowered his gaze, concealing his thoughts. "Do as you wish," he said flatly.
Right on cue, his phone rang.
Matilda glanced at the screen. It was Seraphina.
Sebastian answered it right in front of her, making the older woman's blood boil.
Seraphina's voice came through, sounding slightly hoarse. "Sebastian, are you free tomorrow?"
"Yes. I am."
"The Vance family isn't doing well right now. We've lost a lot of partnerships, and things are looking grim. So... could I ask you to help make some introductions? There's a Charity Medical Gala tomorrow, and a lot of industry leaders will be there. We want to meet with a few CEOs."
She was asking for an entry ticket.
Sebastian pushed his glass aside. He glanced at Matilda, whose face had instantly darkened upon hearing the request, and calmly replied, "I can do that."
Seraphina's tense heart immediately relaxed. "Sebastian, I knew it. You're still as good to me as ever..."
"It's a small matter."
Ignoring the absolute shock on Matilda's face, Sebastian gave his grandmother a curt nod. "You should get some rest."
He turned and walked out while still on the phone, leaving Matilda fuming.
The Vance family... Seraphina...
None of them could be allowed to stick around!
