Raelynn thought it was Lily getting impatient and climbing up again.
But then it hit her—there was no way Lily had the strength to scale an SUV by herself.
She instantly glanced back.
Just as she caught sight of a dark silhouette, the figure lunged at her with terrifying speed.
A heavy hand clamped down hard over her mouth and nose.
Reacting on pure instinct, she tried to shove the car door open and run, but someone outside held it shut. A handkerchief smothered her breath, and a strange, faintly sweet scent rushed into her brain.
Her vision began to blur.
All the strength drained from her limbs, but she forced her unfocused eyes to look outside.
Lily...
Raelynn slipped into darkness.

Meanwhile.
At the Yves family estate.
Inside the main hall.
Many guests had already taken their seats.
Sebastian Croix had also made an appearance.
Seraphina Vance had brought it up earlier that morning, hoping Sebastian would accompany her to the Yves estate for the DNA sampling.
Sebastian didn't join the crowd at the front.
He simply sat alone in a chair, unhurriedly savoring his tea.
Quite a few members of the Yves family were present. Dr. Evelyn Hayes had two daughters and one son, while Quentin Yves had an older and a younger sister, both of whom were in attendance today.
There were also some of the younger generation from the Yves family.
Sierra Yves curiously watched the professionals from the medical agency walking through the doors one by one.
Julian sat right next to Sebastian, keeping his distance from the front just like him.
He couldn't quite describe his mood; a part of him hoped for a match, while another part dreaded it.
Sebastian took a sip of tea and glanced sideways. "If it's confirmed, have you thought about what you'll do?"
