She frowned deeply. "Raelynn is completely in the dark, which is why she isn't a threat to our plan. But that woman, Sylvia... she is definitely a much bigger risk."

Blanche let out a cold scoff. "The person who understands Lydia best might not be the husband who once loved her, but rather the woman who viewed her as a mentor, a friend, and a bitter rival. A woman who envied and resented Lydia would have terrifyingly sharp instincts."
Furthermore.
Sylvia would never want Lydia's biological daughter returning to threaten her own position.
Right now, Sylvia was their true enemy.
"Exactly. We almost wasted this golden opportunity on Raelynn," Seraphina breathed a sigh of relief.
"What was Mr. Croix's stance on this whole thing?" Blanche asked.
"Sebastian doesn't trust Raelynn either. He fully supported me seeking justice. I told her about Sebastian and me, so naturally, a woman as blindly in love with him as Raelynn would lose control and do something extreme."

Hearing that Sebastian now held a grudge against Raelynn—and that this grudge was cemented by Seraphina nearly losing her life—Blanche knew he would never forgive his ex-wife.

But her face quickly turned serious again. "Let's focus on Sylvia. If we mess this up right at the finish line and ruin your future wealth and status, all our hard work will be for nothing."

She had to admit, Sebastian's advice was spot on.
Sylvia looked harmless, kind, and gentle, but how could someone like that betray the very person who helped her? People like that were the hardest to deal with. She had been worried that once Seraphina entered the Yves family, she would be outplayed by Sylvia.
Seraphina fully understood what was at stake.
Her entire body still throbbed, the wound on her arm burning fiercely.
Yet, she threw the covers off and climbed out of bed. "Mom, Chairwoman Hayes and the others just returned to Kingsford. She holds too much power to be away for long. I need to go see her right now."

After parting ways with Walter, Raelynn thought things over.
After a long pause.
His voice came through, sounding even colder than before. "I assume you won't have the time."
Raelynn felt a spike of annoyance. Who was he to decide if she had time or not? How could he reject her request with such arrogant self-righteousness?
"Sebas—"
Beep, beep, beep.
He hung up.
He didn't even let her finish her sentence.
He clearly had absolutely no intention of discussing or negotiating with her.
It was a completely dictatorial move, leaving no room for argument.
Raelynn was understandably furious.
She glared at her phone in disbelief.
They were divorced, yet he still treated her the exact same way he did when they were married. The respect and patience she was denied as his wife was still being withheld from her now that they were strangers.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
