She was trying to salvage her image and position.
Blanche was so furious her face turned chalk-white, her brain buzzing with static.
Where did it all go wrong?
Why didn't Raelynn's blood work?
And how on earth was the amulet a fake?
"Show them out!" Quentin ordered coldly, stripping away any remaining pretense of civility.
Seraphina violently snapped back to reality. She frantically looked at Sebastian, desperate to explain that it wasn't what it looked like. She wanted to salvage her now completely degraded image and beg for his intervention.
But he just kept his eyes lowered, lost in his own thoughts.
Was he furious?
Did he think she had been playing him this whole time too?
The thought made Seraphina's chest seize with agonizing, suffocating panic. "Sebastian, I can explain! I swear I don't know how this happened!"
It was blatantly obvious they had made an enemy of the Yves family.
She could only imagine the hellfire they would rain down in retaliation.
If the fake amulet hadn't been discovered, tonight would have just been a painful failure. But now, it was the final nail in the coffin!
Sebastian finally lifted his gaze.
His dark eyes were utterly impenetrable.
He didn't say a word.
He offered absolutely zero comfort.
Sensing his displeasure, Seraphina's breathing hitched. Consumed by terror, her eyes welled with tears. "Sebastian..."
"Go back first."
His tone was bone-chillingly indifferent.
Those three words plunged Seraphina straight into an icy abyss.
She couldn't decipher what he was thinking.
Dr. Hayes's estate employed private security, and guards promptly marched in to "escort" the two women out. They showed no mercy, bordering on outright hostility.
Sylvia offered him a faint "I'm fine" smile.
Raelynn entirely sympathized with Dr. Hayes.
"It's alright. Just promise me you'll take your blood pressure medication and try not to dwell on this, okay?" Raelynn knew the older woman was suffering the worst emotional whiplash of all. Surviving such extreme highs and devastating lows would crush anyone.
Dr. Hayes managed a weak smile.
"I will."
She turned and walked slowly back to her rooms.
Her usually commanding posture seemed to have withered, her shoulders sagging under an invisible weight.
Watching her retreat, Raelynn felt a lump in her throat.
"Mr. Croix, if you don't mind, please see Raelynn out," Quentin requested, his brow furrowed. Tonight had been a disaster. His mother was still demanding Sylvia's exile, and his biological daughter was still missing. He was carrying a heavy burden.
But he still remembered his manners.
At the request, Sebastian turned to look at Raelynn.
Raelynn rejected it instantly. "I don't need it."

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
