The word "fake" from Dr. Hayes's lips sent Blanche into a full-blown panic.

She had stolen it with her own two hands from The Winslow Antique Shop. How could it possibly be a fake?
Nothing in the Winslow shop was ever fake.
Especially something locked in the display case explicitly marked not for sale. It was on the same tier as the shop's most prized heirloom artifacts.
How on earth could it be... fake?
Seraphina's composure completely disintegrated. She shot Blanche a look of pure horror.
"Are you certain?" Quentin strode over, taking the amulet from his mother's hands. He inspected it closely, then spun around, aiming a lethal glare at the two women. "You planned this fraud from day one, didn't you?!"
The nature of the accusation had fundamentally shifted.
Before, they might have tried to pass it off as a tragic misunderstanding.
But this counterfeit amulet was undeniable proof of premeditated malice!
It proved their intentional deceit, their calculated scam, and cemented the fact that they had fully and deliberately declared war on the Yves family.
"No..." Cold sweat poured down Seraphina's face. Disaster after disaster was shattering her reality, pushing her into hysterics. "There has to be a misunderstanding! Someone must be trying to frame us!"
She had watched her entire life peak and crash in a single night.
She thought orchestrating the car crash to ruin Sylvia's credibility would guarantee her an untouchable throne, but the DNA test had backfired catastrophically.
And now.
The amulet was the final nail hammering her into the coffin.
"A misunderstanding?" Dr. Hayes's face was ruthlessly cold. "Last time, you refused to take it off for me, which is why I couldn't examine the craftsmanship. Are you suggesting you're more familiar with the gift I personally commissioned than I am?"
Blanche's lips trembled violently.
Seraphina had no defense left.
"Since you're so convinced of your innocence," Dr. Hayes continued, "Raelynn is right here. She used to work in the ER. Let her draw a vial of your blood right now, and we'll test it again. How about that?"
The power dynamic instantly flipped.
The suffocating tension in the room reached a breaking point.
"What do you take me and the Yves family for?" Dr. Hayes exploded. She hurled the counterfeit jade violently at the marble floor. As it shattered into pieces, she roared, "Get the hell out of my house!"
She was vibrating with rage.
Her entire family had been played for fools by two malicious women using their most cherished, lost child as bait. The sheer evil of it made her sick to her stomach.
Seeing the older woman trembling, Raelynn quickly stepped forward to support her.
She discreetly checked Dr. Hayes's pulse again.
Confirming that the rage hadn't triggered a critical medical emergency, Raelynn secretly let out a breath of relief.
Sylvia looked at Dr. Hayes with deep concern, then stepped forward. Her usually soft voice was dead serious. "Please leave! Don't try to muddy the waters with your despicable tricks anymore!"
Blanche watched in horror as Sylvia seized the moment to kick them out. Just hours ago, they had practically destroyed this woman, and now she was standing tall again.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
