Professor Alistair Finch kept his hands clasped firmly behind his back, his gaze razor-sharp as it locked onto the younger man. Sebastian Croix merely lifted his eyes, his expression utterly unreadable, showing absolutely no intention of replying.
Whether he took the professor's words as a trivial joke or genuinely didn't care about Raelynn Ortiz's marriage was impossible to tell.
Not that Alistair was expecting an answer anyway.
He just wanted to issue a warning, a firm reminder of the reality of the situation.
Raelynn was going to marry someone else.
She had nothing to do with him anymore.
Seeing the two of them arrive together today, especially after things had escalated to this point, made it necessary to lay everything out on the table.
It was the only way to kill off any lingering possibilities.
"It's getting late. You should head home, Mr. Croix," Alistair scoffed, turning into the courtyard and shutting the heavy door firmly behind him.
He had absolutely no intention of inviting Sebastian inside for a drink.
Sebastian didn't move.
With one hand shoved casually into his pocket, he tilted his head back, his dark gaze drifting toward the second floor of the villa inside the compound.
A light flicked on in one of the rooms.
He stood under the glow of the streetlamp and smoked a cigarette in silence.
Finally, he turned and walked away, never looking back.
-
Back at the Vance family villa.
Seraphina Vance was still frozen in shock. Her face was deathly pale, and a deep, icy dread seeped into her bones, making her shiver despite the mild weather.
The sheer magnitude of the disaster made it impossible for her to think clearly about her next move.
Crash!
Blanche had only recently learned the truth about Silas Vance and Rowan while forging Seraphina's fake identity.
Rowan had been a famous, wealthy socialite back in the day.
Silas had pursued her relentlessly.
Eventually, Rowan needed a legally married status to register Raelynn, so she funded Silas's startup and gave him the break he desperately needed.
If Raelynn wasn't Silas's biological daughter, how could the plan have gone so wrong?
Blanche had relied on all those 'coincidences' to conclude that Raelynn was undeniably tied to the Yves family.
"But the truth is, she's not!" Seraphina's composure completely shattered. She raised her voice, screaming, "We're the ones who crashed and burned! Dr. Hayes will make sure I'm blacklisted from the entire medical community, and the Yves family will destroy the Vance family. We're going to lose everything!"
Worst of all.
She had spent so much time and effort framing Sylvia, hoping to ruin her chances of a legitimate marriage with Quentin Yves. She had wanted Dr. Hayes to permanently revoke Sylvia's chance at becoming the future matriarch of the Yves family.

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
