Seraphina stiffened, instinctively tightening her grip on her phone.
Cameron caught the subtle movement immediately.
He snatched the device from her grasp and shoved it toward her face, using her biometric scan to unlock it. "Looks like you made some progress. Where is it? Flash drive or photos?"
Before Seraphina could stop him.
Cameron had already opened her camera roll.
Seeing the dozens of high-resolution images of the confidential files, a feverish, excited gleam ignited in his eyes. "I knew I picked the right girl. Even a ruthless, iron-fisted bastard like my brother can stumble over a woman."
He had always known.
Seraphina was the chink in Sebastian's armor.
"What exactly are you trying to pull?" Seraphina snarled, lunging to grab her phone back.
Cameron yanked her into his chest, laughing darkly as his hand slid down her waist to grope her with bruising force. "Nothing much. Just taking what I want. Honestly, I'm starting to think you did me a huge favor. Without you, I'd probably be stuck living in my brother's shadow forever."
Seraphina glared at him in utter disgust. "I'm warning you, don't push Sebastian too far. And don't ever contact me again, or I swear I'll drag you down with me. I'll expose everything, how you blackmailed me into stealing corporate secrets!"
She needed to assert dominance.
Sebastian had just promised to marry her.
She had to ensure Cameron wouldn't try to ruin her new life.
Cameron burst into laughter. "Why would I do that? You're far too useful. I need you lingering around my dear brother for a while longer."
With that.
He released his grip on her.
Giving her a predatory once-over, he smirked. "Now that we've handled business, why don't you come back to my place so we can handle some pleasure?"
Seraphina instinctively wrapped her arms protectively around her stomach.
She was pregnant now.
There was no way she was letting Cameron lay another finger on her.
Jerking the car door open with a scowl, she snapped, "Don't ever look for me unless it's a matter of life or death!"
She slipped out of the vehicle and slammed the door shut.
Raelynn checked the time. "No problem. I don't have any major plans today anyway. Since Elaine invited me, I'll go make an appearance and score a free dinner."
Elaine was Preston's wife and had practically watched Raelynn grow up.
The two of them were quite close.
Preston cringed. "Hey, stop calling her by her first name like you're my equal. You're just trying to take advantage of me."
She was essentially trying to bump herself up a generation, even though he was two years older than her.
Raelynn laughed out loud.

Elaine sent her a quick text telling her to drive safe.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....

I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
