She knew she was the one essentially proposing.
But at this critical juncture, she couldn't afford to play hard to get or wait for Sebastian to take the initiative. She had to swallow her pride for now.
"Sebastian, let's build a beautiful family together," Seraphina said, gazing up at him with wide, pleading eyes. "I know you love children, and Raelynn hasn't been able to give you a single one in all these years. Your relationship with her has been dead for a long time. Please, don't let her waste any more of your life."
Her voice was soft and sweet.
Painting the picture of a perfect, happy future.
Sebastian remained in his relaxed posture, leaning back in his chair with his legs crossed. He looked down at her through half-lidded eyes.
It was painfully obvious she wanted him to sever ties with Raelynn completely.
His gaze swept over her stomach again, answering her plea with a question of his own. "You've had it confirmed?"
With a sickeningly sweet smile, Seraphina pulled out a handful of pregnancy tests from her purse. Every single one boldly displayed two clear pink lines. "Absolutely. The second I found out, I rushed straight here. We're going to be parents."
Hearing the words "we're going to be parents," the faintest of smirks played on his lips.
Making his striking features look almost predatory, he said, "If you're carrying a child, then as the father, it is only right that I take responsibility."
Those words.
Sent Seraphina into a state of absolute euphoria. She beamed, looking up at him with unbridled passion. "Sebastian, you're agreeing to marry me?"
Sebastian gestured for her to stand.
Seraphina quickly rose from her spot beside his chair.
He picked up a file from his desk, his tone perfectly even. "Why wouldn't I agree?"
That definitive answer instantly melted away the terrifying anxiety she had been harboring. She had assumed this would be a difficult battle.
Especially after the disastrous incident where she was exposed at the Yves family gathering.
She thought Sebastian would hold a grudge or at least be angry.
But looking at him now.
It was clear his tolerance for her was far higher than she had ever imagined.
It could only be born of absolute, profound love.
It made perfect sense. Matilda must have set it up, and Sebastian hated dealing with trivial annoyances. It was entirely in character for him to just ignore it and never bother changing the code.
But...
Seraphina's smile slowly faded.
She looked down at her phone.
In her fit of jealous rage, she had photographed every page of the strategic deployment plans.

Should she really hand them over to Cameron?
Lost in thought, she walked out of the corporate lobby and didn't even react when she was suddenly yanked into a parked car.
Realizing it was Cameron, her expression darkened instantly. "What the hell are you doing? This is Sebastian's territory, keep your hands off me!"
Cameron couldn't be bothered to argue with her. "Well? Did you get it?"

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
