The atmosphere at the table was undeniably bizarre.

Everyone seemed remarkably well-adjusted. The extended family members had already pushed the ugly scene out of their minds, chatting and laughing about trivial matters as if nothing had happened.

Raelynn found the stark contrast deeply unsettling.

It felt like everyone was wearing an impenetrable mask. They were supposed to be family, bound by blood, yet there was a thick wall of artifice separating them all.

"What do you want to eat?"

Sebastian's low, smooth voice pulled her from her thoughts.

She glanced up to find him looking right at her.

His gaze was dark and unreadable.

Raelynn had completely lost her appetite. "Don't worry about me," she replied quickly.

"Alright."

Sebastian nodded calmly. Using the serving utensils, he picked up two New Zealand Langoustines and placed them on his plate. He then slid on a pair of disposable gloves and expertly peeled the shells away.

Without missing a beat, he placed the succulent meat right onto Raelynn's plate.

He clearly didn't care about her previous rejection.

Raelynn stared down at the food.

Langoustine had always been her favorite. Sebastian had a photographic memory and an incredibly sharp mind; he could remember the background of a complete stranger who handed him a business card once.

Of course he'd remember a minor detail like her favorite seafood.

"Oh, Sebastian is so thoughtful. Putting on a little show of affection with your wife is a brilliant move. It shows everyone how strong your marriage is, which just proves that Seraphina Vance is nothing but a desperate joke," Brenda Polk couldn't resist sniping.

Her tone was dripping with acidic resentment.

She was obviously still furious.

Sebastian kept his head down, meticulously peeling another piece of seafood with a practiced calm.

He seemed entirely indifferent to her response.

Forrest nodded approvingly. "Good. However, the fact remains that she insulted you. We can't just ignore that. Do you have any thoughts on how we should handle the Vance family? I'd be happy to take your suggestions and ensure you get your revenge."

Raelynn found the offer incredibly ironic.
