She wasn't taking the bait.
Forrest gave her a long, appraising look.
Ultimately, he didn't push the matter any further.
A small porcelain plate was slid over to her side of the table.
Raelynn looked down.
Several perfectly peeled pieces of tender langoustine rested there.
Beside her, Sebastian had already discarded his plastic gloves and was casually wiping his hands with a wet wipe.
When Raelynn didn't reach for her fork, he glanced sideways. "I thought this was your favorite."
"Not anymore," she replied evenly.
Sebastian paused. "Since when?"
"Since right now," she answered dismissively.
He didn't say anything to that. He just stared at her in silence for a few heavy seconds.
The rest of the meal was incredibly tense.
Every bite felt loaded with anxiety.
Everyone was lost in their own plotting.
Even the usually boisterous Cameron was completely silent. He was deeply agitated. Seraphina's downfall and her mysterious pregnancy were major problems for him.
Seraphina was officially ruined.
To everyone in the room, she was nothing more than a pariah. He needed to wash his hands of her immediately before the patriarch caught wind of his own messy involvement.
He suddenly looked up.
He cast a sharp glance at Sebastian.
A dark, calculating glint flashed in his eyes.
As the banquet finally drew to a close, guests began to mingle and take their leave.
Suddenly.
A man rushed into the room, his face pale with sheer panic.
He hurried straight to Forrest's side and whispered frantically into his ear. "Chairman, it's a disaster. The top-secret five-year strategic plan for our New Energy AI Initiative... it's been leaked."
The words hit the room like a drop of water in boiling oil.
The entire hall exploded in chaos.
Even a seasoned veteran like Forrest lost his composure, his face twisting in fury. "What the hell do you mean?!"
Upon hearing the news...
She couldn't help but look at him.
Yet, to her shock, he looked completely unfazed. Meeting Forrest's furious, questioning glare, he stated plainly, "I have no explanation."
His blunt response only fueled the patriarch's rage.
"I don't care what it takes, you fix this immediately! Otherwise..." Forrest took a sharp breath, genuinely trembling with anger. This was the master plan for their corporate dominance.
It was a multi-billion dollar project. The consequences of this failure were unimaginable.
Tonight...
The Croix family wasn't going to get a wink of sleep.
And half of them would be staying up just to gloat.
Oddly, Sebastian didn't rush out to handle the crisis.
Instead, he turned to Raelynn. "Did you drive? I'll take you home."
Raelynn stared at him like he was out of his mind. How could he possibly offer her a ride when his entire career was actively burning to the ground?
"No thanks," she said curtly. "Focus on your own mess."
"I'm taking you home."
Ignoring her entirely, he started walking toward the exit.

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
