Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 659

Sebastian Croix didn't drink tonight.

He drove to the marital home.

He had been sleeping here almost every day recently, so when he pulled up to the gate, he spotted Seraphina Vance standing there immediately.

It was autumn.

The cold night wind howled.

The sight of a woman's delicate figure standing in the dark easily roused a man's protective instincts.

He gave her a dismissive glance and stopped the car when Seraphina noticed him and excitedly stepped forward to block his path.

Sebastian didn't get out; he simply rolled down the window.

Even looking up from inside the car, he exuded a predatory, overbearing aura.

Meeting his intense gaze, Seraphina felt a chill run through her, but she bit the bullet anyway. "Sebastian, let's talk."

She didn't want to appear too desperate, as if she had truly done something wrong.

Sebastian checked his watch. "Speak."

Assuming he was still angry, Seraphina softened her tone. "I know you spoke in anger at the banquet. With so many people watching, you couldn't let the Croix family lose face."

He cared about her. She couldn't let herself waver so easily.

Sebastian rested one hand on the steering wheel, tapping his fingers in an unhurried rhythm, and gave no response.

Taking a deep breath, her face still pale from the shock she hadn't quite recovered from, Seraphina forced a smile and leaned in. "We are all adults. I've never denied that we dated in the past. The baby thing is total nonsense. The past is the past. We have a solid foundation together. Give me a chance. Don't break my heart, okay?"

"I can't lose you." As she said this, Seraphina clutched the edge of the car window.

Her eyes welled with tears.

Sebastian tapped the steering wheel about ten times before looking at her. "Who you dated is your business. I have no right to interfere."

Act like a clown.

The truth felt like a brutal slap to the face.

She felt like she was burning alive.

Her breathing grew heavy, and she almost lost her voice. "...Why?"

"Because it's none of my business." He smiled, the expression strikingly handsome on his face. "What happens to you has nothing to do with me. Isn't that how we've always operated? I never interfere with what you do."

Seraphina felt her blood run cold.

No interference, no responsibility, no care, no warnings.

And now, his honesty had become a lethal weapon.

Her eyes trembled. "Why?! Why would you treat me like this?"
