Raelynn turned around.

A hand swung toward her face so fast it was just a blur.

But she was faster. She sidestepped smoothly, caught the wrist with its perfectly manicured, razor-sharp nails, and shoved the woman backward with brutal force.

"Are you a lunatic?"

Raelynn's expression turned frigid. After being violently shoved away, Seraphina stumbled and nearly hit the floor.

If that slap had landed, it would have left bloody gouges across Raelynn's face.

Seraphina looked completely deranged. She finally caught her balance, her eyes blazing with furious resentment. She and Blanche had come today to dig through the antique shop's records, desperate to see if there was any proof of Blanche's crimes from years ago.

But the second she saw Raelynn, all she could think about was the utter humiliation she had suffered at Chairman Croix Sr.'s welcome banquet—all of which Raelynn had witnessed firsthand.

She knew Raelynn must be laughing at her.

How was she supposed to just swallow that kind of rage?

"What gives you the right to be here?" Everything was falling apart, and seeing Raelynn casually strolling through the antique shop that was supposed to be her dowry pushed Seraphina over the edge.

Raelynn could tell the woman was completely unhinged.

But that didn't mean she was going to stand there and be a punching bag. She shot her a cold glare. "If you're throwing a tantrum because your love life is a disaster, you've got the wrong target. Get out of my face."

It made sense.

She obviously hadn't patched things up with Sebastian.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be acting like an absolute psycho.

Those words struck a nerve. Seraphina's already haggard face contorted, but she quickly recovered, twisting her lips into a venomous sneer. "You're getting ahead of yourself, Raelynn. Even if things are rocky between me and Sebastian, don't think you can just sit back and play the happy Mrs. Croix."

Her eyes gleamed with spiteful satisfaction. "Sebastian is ten times colder to you than he ever was to me. At least I got to experience his soft side. What do you have? Aside from a marriage you manipulated him into, you have nothing! He will never love you. He's going to spend the rest of his life hating you! Despising you!"

Seraphina had figured out enough about their dynamic.

"Sera, don't waste your breath on her. We need to handle our own mess first." Blanche hurried over from behind, yanking the hysterical Seraphina away.

The disaster with Keystone was the final nail in the coffin.

They had no other options left.

Seraphina took a deep, shaky breath, shot one last murderous glare at Sierra and Raelynn, and stormed off.

Raelynn watched them leave, her frown deepening.

It seemed Sebastian and Seraphina really were finished. But if they were, why were they still allowed inside the antique shop? Why hadn't their access been revoked?

Was it just an oversight because he hadn't gotten around to updating the security protocols yet?

Raelynn couldn't make sense of it, but she assumed Sebastian was probably too buried in the crisis at Croix Holdings to worry about minor details like this.

"Professor Ortiz, are you upset about what she said?" Sierra noticed Raelynn's silence and stepped closer, her voice gentle. "Don't listen to her. You two have been married for years; there's no way he doesn't care about you at all."
