Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 669

Seraphina's breath hitched. She stared at Sebastian, her eyes wide with disbelief. She wasn't an idiot; she knew exactly what police surveillance and interception meant. She and Blanche had hand-delivered the critical breakthrough straight to the cops.

"Why?" Seraphina wanted to lunge at him and scream. "When you told me the antique shop was going to be investigated, you weren't warning me. You were..."

The words died in her throat. The truth was too devastating to voice aloud.

He had played her. He fed her that information so she would panic and warn Blanche. In their desperate scramble to ensure they hadn't left any evidence behind at the shop, they had walked right into his trap. Stripped of all their resources, they had scurried around like cornered rats, convinced things couldn't possibly get any worse.

A suffocating wave of despair crashed over Seraphina. She lunged forward, but Detective Garrett intercepted her. "Calm down, Ms. Vance. Keep your voice down."

Sebastian finally met her gaze. "Believe whatever you want," he said coldly.

His voice was a detached, casual drawl. It was the ultimate display of ruthless indifference.

A violent shudder ripped through Seraphina's body.

Detective Garrett frowned. "If you hadn't panicked and rushed to cover your tracks, we never would've intercepted this lead. Now, we have your offshore accounts and the dark web communication codes. We're running them down as we speak. The truth isn't staying buried any longer."

"No!" Blanche yelled, shoving her way forward to defend herself. "There's been a mistake! It was Silas Vance! I didn't know anything about it—"

Standing rigidly in the doorway, Raelynn felt the blood freeze in her veins.

The accident had been a paid hit. When her mother survived, Silas had swooped in, seized control of the antique shop, and forced her bedridden mother to sign the divorce papers. Her mother had suffered in a hospital bed for over a decade while Raelynn had been thrown out, left to fight for her life in the streets.

And it was all because...

Because of Blanche and her family.

Hearing Blanche's shameless lies snapped the last thread of Raelynn's control. She closed the distance between them, grabbed Blanche by the arm, and spun the older woman around. Without hesitating, Raelynn delivered a stinging slap across her face.

Handcuffed and caught off guard, Blanche lost her balance and crashed to the floor.

She wasn't going to let Raelynn walk away unscathed!

But before the blow could land...

A large hand locked around Seraphina's wrist mid-air.

The grip was punishing, squeezing bone and tendon with enough force to make her gasp in agony. Cold sweat broke out on her forehead as she looked up, straight into Sebastian's predatory gaze.

The absolute darkness in his eyes sent a wave of pure terror crashing through her.

Between the crushing pain in her arm and the lethal threat radiating from him, her fingers went numb. The heavy frame slipped from her grasp.

Detective Garrett caught the frame before it hit the floor and slammed it back onto the desk. "What do you think this is, a free-for-all? You want a cell right next to hers?"

Having lost all patience with the chaotic women, he barked an order to his officers. "Get Blanche into an interrogation room. Now!"
