Blanche wailed hysterically, dragging her feet, but the officers hauled her away without an ounce of sympathy.
The tension in the room rapidly shifted.
Sebastian released Seraphina's wrist. The dangerous glint in his eyes hadn't completely faded, and he remained entirely silent.
Seraphina gasped, rubbing her bruised arm. What truly broke her wasn't the pain—it was finally seeing the dark, merciless side of Sebastian that he had always kept hidden from her.
By the time Raelynn turned around, the chaos had been contained.
Officers were already escorting a frantic Seraphina toward the exit. "Don't cause any more trouble," one of the cops warned her. "We'll contact you with updates."
With that, Seraphina was shoved out the precinct doors.
Raelynn watched her go, a knot of confusion tightening in her chest. She turned back to Detective Garrett. "I want a full investigation. The truth needs to come out, and the people responsible need to pay."
Detective Garrett nodded. "We'll follow protocol. Building a case on a decade-old crime is complicated, but catching her red-handed trying to cover it up gives us a massive head start."
He gestured toward Sebastian.
"We also have Mr. Croix to thank. He's the one who called in the tip. Since you two seem to be on the same side, perhaps you should introduce your—"
"There's no need. We know each other," Raelynn interjected.
"Oh?" Detective Garrett looked between them in surprise.
Raelynn opened her mouth to clarify they were exes, but Sebastian beat her to it.
"We were married for seven years," he said, his tone utterly flat.
"Ah, husband and wife," the detective said, nodding in understanding.
The words grated on Raelynn's nerves. "Not anymore," she snapped without missing a beat.
This time, Sebastian didn't argue.
Sensing the heavy tension, Detective Garrett wisely dropped the subject. "We'll be in touch if we need formal statements from either of you. Just hang tight and wait for our call."
Raelynn gave a curt nod.
Blanche was in for a grueling series of interrogations, and Raelynn knew the wheels of justice turned slowly.
The fact that an 'accident' everyone had written off a decade ago was finally seeing the light of day was a miracle in itself.
With Blanche behind bars, everything was gone. If the police froze those assets, how was she supposed to take care of Shane?
She could survive on her own, but Shane was just a boy. They needed money to survive.
Raelynn watched the pathetic display with icy detachment.
Sebastian completely ignored Seraphina's pleas. Instead, he looked over her shoulder, meeting Raelynn's gaze. "You're begging the wrong person," he said coolly. "I'm not the one you need to ask for forgiveness."
Seraphina froze.
His meaning hit her like a physical blow.
Slowly, she turned around to face Raelynn. Her eyes were still swimming with a venomous, unadulterated hatred, but she couldn't deny the brutal truth.
She had intentionally bypassed Raelynn, foolishly hoping she could exploit a shred of Sebastian's lingering affection.
Now...
She was completely cornered. She was trapped on the edge of a cliff, completely stripped of choices.
Seraphina's breathing turned ragged. Grinding her teeth so hard her jaw ached, she collapsed to the ground at Raelynn's feet. Choking down her overwhelming humiliation and fury, she looked up with a broken sob. "Raelynn, I'm begging you. Leave me a way out. Just consider it good karma for your daughter's sake... please?"

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...

I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
