The anesthesia hadn't worn off yet.
He was wheeled into the hospital room.
Leo Flynn was still shaken by the sheer terror of what had just happened. He followed closely behind Raelynn. "I thought you wouldn't even come to check on him. Sebastian's in bad shape. He completely used himself as a human shield. With the added weight, even though the height of the fall was reduced, the impact did massive damage."
He carefully watched Raelynn's expression.
She simply sat in the chair beside the bed, quietly staring at the unconscious Sebastian.
She didn't say a word.
Leo didn't let the awkward silence deter him. He sank into the sofa behind her and kept talking. "He fractured his lower leg, so that's going to take two or three months to heal. Mild concussion, extensive soft tissue damage across his back, and cuts everywhere. The doctor said his blood won't clot properly. Thank God there was leftover plasma from Lily's procedure, or we'd be in serious trouble."
Hearing that, Raelynn finally reacted.
Her eyelids fluttered.
Almost three pints of blood was a massive amount. She only had a fragmented understanding of Sebastian's bleeding disorder. He never talked about it, and without a specific incident, there was no way for her to know.
The only time she had seen it firsthand was when they were kids, and she had saved his life.
For years, she had blamed herself, thinking her poor first-aid skills were the reason he wouldn't stop bleeding.
Then there was last year, when Sebastian had sustained an external injury. She had seen how the wound refused to heal. She hadn't thought much of it at the time, but now, everything made terrifying sense.
Looking back, the signs were always there.
And Lily's condition...
She had inherited it from him.
A bitter, mocking smile tugged at the corners of Raelynn's lips.
He had given their child absolutely nothing in life, yet he had managed to pass down this deadly genetic curse with perfect accuracy.
"Raelynn?" Leo grew anxious when she still didn't speak. "Not many men would go to such extremes. Honestly, the way I see it, it's not just that he couldn't bear to see a child get hurt. It's more like... he did it because of you. Loving the mother means loving the child."

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
