Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 700

Raelynn's expression darkened instantly.

Pregnancy was the ultimate get-out-of-jail-free card.

But when she thought of the sheer agony Lily had been put through, a fiery wave of hatred surged in her chest.

This was letting Seraphina off way too easy!

It was practically giving her a free pass to walk away unscathed.

Leo sighed. "Just stay here with him. As for Seraphina, honestly, being out there might not be any easier for her than being locked up."

He left it at that.

Glancing between Raelynn and Sebastian one last time, he turned and walked out of the room.

The hospital suite was left with nothing but the rhythmic hum of medical equipment, so quiet it felt devoid of life.

Raelynn remained in her chair.

She stared at Sebastian's closed eyes.

His face was paler than she could have ever imagined.

It looked far worse than the clinical summary Leo had just provided.

Even in his unconscious state, his brows were pulled tight in pain.

Her mind was racing with a million thoughts, most of which offered no answers.

Sebastian had never once communicated with her. His actions, his schemes, his long games—she had always been locked out of his world.

She didn't know how much time had passed.

Sebastian woke up.

His dark, fathomless eyes fluttered open. For a fraction of a second, they were clouded with confusion, but they sharpened almost instantly. His gaze locked onto Raelynn, and he didn't look the least bit surprised. "Been waiting here the whole time?"

His voice was rough and gravelly.

The hoarseness gave his usual sharp edge a lazy, exhausted drawl.

Raelynn hesitated for a moment before picking up the water glass from the bedside table and guiding the straw to his lips. "No. I just walked in."

"Right. Sure."

He didn't argue or call her bluff. He glanced at the straw, parted his lips, and took a slow sip to soothe his raw throat.

"Do you need me to call the doctor?" she asked, pulling the glass away when he leaned back.

"I'm not dying." Sebastian lacked his usual commanding strength, his words coming out in a slow drawl. "How's Lily?"
