Raelynn genuinely hadn't known about the proposal.
And she certainly never expected to find out about it from the mouth of her ex-husband.
There was a distinct undercurrent of mockery in his tone.
He didn't bring up Ian's grand gesture to praise the man's devotion—he was doing it purely to ridicule the failure of it.
Raelynn felt a sudden spike of anger.
This was between her and Ian. Having Sebastian, an outsider, sit there and casually dissect her love life infuriated her.
"My relationship with him doesn't hinge on a fancy ritual. You really don't need to worry about us."
With that, Raelynn turned on her heel and walked out.
She knew she wasn't going to get any more information out of Sebastian today.
But a flicker of suspicion remained in her eyes.
Regardless of his motives...
She realized she needed to accelerate the wedding plans with Ian.
That was the only way to ensure her daughter's safety completely.
The door clicked shut.
Sebastian waited a moment before slowly opening his eyes.
He stared at the empty doorway.
The room reeked of clinical antiseptics—a harsh, sterile scent he hated with every fiber of his being. It made his stomach turn. But for the past seven years, Raelynn had always worn the same perfume. A soft, clean citrus note.
It was faint, but it lingered, cutting through the sickening hospital smell.
He stared at the door for a long time.
Then, his brow furrowed deeply.
His entire body was screaming in agony.
As the anesthesia wore off, his entire nervous system felt like it was catching fire, the pain overwhelming and relentless.
Yet his face remained entirely blank.
A long while later, Leo walked back in, noting Raelynn's absence.
Sebastian's gaze turned predatory and cold. "Call my secretary. I want a total blackout on what happened at the resort today. The Croix family cannot find out I was the one who saved Lily."
Leo nodded instinctively, already reaching for his phone, but paused. "Hide it from your family? Why? What are you worried about?"
Sebastian had no intention of explaining himself.
Instead, he added thoughtfully, "Do me a favor. Find out exactly how Seraphina Vance managed to sneak into the venue."

It was getting late by the time Julian arrived at the hospital.

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
