The words dripped with venom.
He didn't even wait for Sebastian to answer.
He kept talking, his tone sharp and deliberately designed to twist the knife. "I don't know what the hell is going through your head, but I feel obligated to give you a reality check."
"Even if you nearly died saving my niece, it doesn't change a damn thing. She is a Hudson. Raelynn and Ian's connection was written in the stars. Even after you dragged her into that accidental marriage, they still found their way to each other. They've built an unbreakable bond and had a child together. Sebastian, face it. You lost. Completely and utterly."
Julian was usually laid-back, but when he wanted to cut someone down, his words were coated in poison.
Every syllable was engineered to inflict maximum damage.
After hitting a brick wall with Raelynn, he wasn't about to let Sebastian sit there in peace.
Sebastian looked at him calmly for two full seconds. "What makes you think I'm trying to change anything?"
The counter-question hung in the air, a definitive answer in itself.
He didn't care.
He didn't care about destiny, or fate, or who Raelynn chose to be with.
His absolute apathy made Julian's face darken. "You ruined her. You pushed her away. And you're telling me you don't regret a single second of it?"
Sebastian didn't even blink. His voice was deathly calm. "Correct."
"I don't regret it."
Julian stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
He was furious.
He had come here to make Sebastian bleed emotionally.
Instead, he was the one walking away blinded by rage.
He couldn't even tell if Sebastian was just putting up an impenetrable front, or if he genuinely didn't give a damn.
But either way, it was equally infuriating and incomprehensible.

Raelynn had no idea Julian had just picked a fight and stormed off in a rage.
She and Ian were too busy trying to figure out how to hide the incident from Professor Alistair Finch.
The professor had a mandatory international medical conference to attend for Lily's birthday, which was why he hadn't been able to make it back.
He still didn't know what had happened to Lily.
She and Ian quickly got their stories straight, lying to Alistair and claiming they had taken Lily on a spontaneous vacation.

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
