"I didn't do it on purpose! I just wanted so badly for us to get along. I was terrified that if you knew, you'd hate me. I didn't have the confidence to think you'd actually like me. Even if I'm adopted, I was so scared you'd hold it against me..."
Sierra scrambled to explain herself.
Raelynn had already learned from Julian that Sierra was adopted.
But looking at her now...
She stared at Sierra's red, frantic eyes.
No one got to choose their origins.
Raelynn said evenly, "I don't blame you, and I don't hate you."
"Really?" Sierra's eyes lit up like fireworks. "Then where are you going? You aren't leaving just to avoid us, are you?"
Checking the time, Raelynn had no choice but to answer, "I'm meeting a friend to hang out."
"Can I come with you?" Sierra gazed at her with breathless anticipation, her voice dropping into a careful plea. "I just want to spend a little more time with you..."
Raelynn pressed her lips together silently. What a headache. She should have just lied and said she had to work.
Now, she couldn't exactly say no without sounding entirely unreasonable.
She didn't understand why Sierra was so desperate to cling to her, but so far, Sierra hadn't done anything overtly malicious to cross her boundaries. Being overly harsh or cold now would just make Raelynn look like the bad guy.
"Get in," Raelynn finally relented, pushing the thoughts away.
It was just a party.
Once they got inside, they could do their own thing.
Sierra instantly scrambled into the passenger seat.
The address Chloe had sent was for The Villa Club.
To maintain strict privacy, their social circle always hosted gatherings at exclusive venues like this.
By the time Raelynn arrived, it was nearly seven o'clock.
Chloe bounded out to greet her.
She had a massive grin on her face, but it faltered slightly when she spotted Sierra trailing behind. Leaning in, Chloe whispered, "Are you guys suddenly best friends now?"
There was a hint of sourness in her tone.
Since when were they playing happy sisters?
Raelynn pinched Chloe's cheek. "Don't overthink it. I'll explain later."

I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
