Evelyn's gaze was extraordinarily piercing.
Her single question made the air in the room grow suffocatingly tense.
Raelynn looked up. "You're misunderstanding. He..."
Sebastian slowly raised his eyes.
He looked at Raelynn for a moment, something unreadable flickering in his pupils before settling back into total indifference.
"No."
Sebastian spoke calmly, not even looking at Raelynn. Instead, he met Evelyn's gaze head-on, his expression entirely candid. "I have no intention of remarrying her."
Even though Raelynn knew perfectly well that whatever feelings they once shared were long gone, hearing Sebastian so decisively draw the line between them still made her pause. She looked at him quietly for two seconds before looking away.
She didn't say another word.
Evelyn looked surprised, her brows furrowing slightly.
Julian, however, slammed his hand on the table, his face darkening. "Sebastian, don't talk like you're the one rejecting Raelynn. Do you think our Raelynn even wants to remarry you? It's not up to what you want or don't want."
He was furious.
Having known Sebastian for years, he knew the man too well. He never minced his words; if he wanted something, he wouldn't be this blunt about rejecting it.
This answer.
It was Sebastian's genuine thought.
He truly had no desire to rekindle anything with Raelynn.
Sierra glanced at Sebastian and silently released her death grip on the hem of her shirt.
She had almost believed Sebastian was doing all this just to win Raelynn back.
Fortunately, they had all guessed wrong.
Evelyn frowned. "If that's how you feel, I suppose that's fine. You two were never a good match anyway. There's no need to wade back into the muddy waters of a bad marriage. Cutting ties completely is for the best."
That was her honest opinion.
However.
She narrowed her eyes, staring at Sebastian's impossibly composed face. "Mr. Croix, can you explain to me why you did all this, then?"
"Prominent families value their bloodlines, but we all know that in these circles, cherishing a child only happens when there are no conflicting interests and life is perfectly harmonious. Now that the Croix family's messy love triangle has blown up, and Lily has been dragged into the spotlight, the Croix family will be crucified by public opinion if they don't reclaim her. Yet you helped Raelynn. You helped the Yves family. What exactly goes through your head?"
Sebastian's expression didn't change.
He was in no rush to speak.
Raelynn, however, had no interest in dissecting his motives. She pursed her lips and said, "As long as it doesn't affect the child, me, or the Yves family, whatever he's plotting personally doesn't matter."
Whatever Sebastian needed, that was his own business.
They had ended up in this situation.
Because of him and his family. Right now, this could only be considered breaking even.
Lily had nothing to do with the Croix family anyway. His concession wasn't some grand act of mercy.
Raelynn clearly wanted to gloss over the topic.
Sebastian lifted his gaze, his eyes landing on her face.
Sierra watched the exchange.
Her lips parted slightly before she spoke in a small voice, "Mr. Croix might just feel guilty because of what happened before."

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
