The moment the words left her mouth.
Sierra belatedly realized what she had said and hastily looked up.
But everyone sitting there knew exactly which incident she was referring to.
The night the Davenport and Croix families decided on an engagement.
Hearing this, Evelyn's expression turned frigid.
"There's no need for you to drag up the past right now," Julian snapped, his gaze razor-sharp.
Sierra couldn't hide her ulterior motives. Panic was written all over her face. Fidgeting like she was sitting on pins and needles, she quickly turned to Raelynn. "Raelynn, I didn't mean it like that. I—I just... I just thought that the reason you and Mr. Croix were exchanging such harsh words today was because of that night. I felt uneasy about it, so I..."
She stood up, took two steps toward Raelynn, and stopped. "I just don't want to be the reason there's bad blood between you two. I really hope you won't take what happened that night to heart. If you genuinely want to get back together with Mr. Croix, I can explain everything to him. Whatever makes you feel better."
Sierra's eyes were red, her face flushed.
Her voice was laced with frantic sobs. She looked desperately from Raelynn to Sebastian.
Acting like a completely helpless, innocent victim.
Evelyn's face was stormy.
She still hadn't had the time to deal with what happened that day.
She had been too busy.
Shouldering heavy responsibilities, she was constantly mentoring students, holding meetings, and traveling for work.
She had planned to hold a family tribunal that very night.
But urgent work had kept her completely tied up.
Now, the past was being dredged up, and everyone involved was right here in the room.
She slammed her palm on the table. "Stop crying. When something happens, you deal with it. Do you think crying is going to sweep things under the rug, or are you demanding an explanation?"
Sierra had always been terrified of Evelyn.
She looked over at Sebastian, who sat with his legs crossed the entire time.
He looked completely unfazed, as if he were just listening to idle gossip.
"Mr. Croix, say what you will, but everyone saw what they saw. Even if you deny whatever happened in there, no one will believe you. The Davenport family won't believe it, and the public won't believe it either if the rumors get out. They'll just think Sierra is a girl who got taken advantage of. The Yves family won't just stand by and let their child be gossiped about forever."
In a luxury hotel like that.
With so many witnesses, whether there was proof that nothing happened or not.
He had to take responsibility, willing or not.
Raelynn looked at Sylvia, who appeared delicate but was exhibiting the fierce protectiveness of a mother.
Her voice was soft, but the hidden agenda was sharp.
Even though she hadn't explicitly used the words.
Raelynn could hear the real demand—she was trying to force him to take responsibility.

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
