Especially since today's setting couldn't have been more perfect for this.
She even dragged the Yves family into it, wanting them to step up and demand a title from Sebastian on Sierra's behalf.
Evelyn's initial joy at gaining a great-granddaughter had completely soured thanks to this mess. Her face was icy. "I suggest you drop the act. Don't think I don't know exactly what you're scheming. You're dying to send Sierra to the Croix family as a replacement. Let me remind you, no matter what happens, Sebastian is still her former brother-in-law. If you're so dead set on this plot, pack your bags and leave. The Yves family will never accept the disgraceful reputation of throwing two daughters into the same swamp!"
She had weathered storms her entire life.
There wasn't a trick in the book she hadn't seen.
Even though Sylvia had never dared to step out of line in front of her all these years, Evelyn wasn't senile.
Sylvia was more desperate than anyone to secure a powerful in-law to elevate her own status.
Sylvia's face paled. "That wasn't what I meant. I'm just heartbroken for Sierra. The rumors are going to destroy her."
Sierra also hadn't expected Evelyn to be so ruthless, leaving her absolutely no dignity.
Even though she had stayed by Evelyn's side for years, she still couldn't compare to Raelynn.
She bit her lip stubbornly. "Grandma, I know you're doing this because of Raelynn. You'd rather see me suffer. Next to my sister's feelings and public opinion, my innocence doesn't mean a thing."
Evelyn shot her a look. "Are you claiming that something actually happened between you and Mr. Croix?"
Sierra opened her mouth, wringing her fingers as she looked at Sebastian, who hadn't said a single word.
She stubbornly remained silent.
But that silence.
Everyone knew it was a tacit admission.
Sylvia dabbed the corners of her eyes, looking pleadingly at Raelynn. "Raelynn, Sierra is still young. She won't be able to handle the dirty looks from society. Can you think of a solution? How can we make you feel comfortable while also giving her a proper arrangement?"
She bypassed everyone and aimed straight for Raelynn.
Julian stood up. "As her mother, you don't even try to discipline your own daughter, and now you're demanding solutions from someone else?"
Raelynn looked up.
"I used to think the Yves family would never raise a daughter with such a lack of decency," his voice was utterly detached. "Now I understand. With a mother like that, it's all about the example being set at home."
With one sentence.
He practically insulted both of them.
Leaving Sierra stunned.
And Sylvia's face stiffening. "Mr. Croix, what do you mean by that?"
Even Quentin's face darkened, but he didn't speak.
Because this entire situation was deeply humiliating.
Sebastian reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, clip-on body camera.
"Unfortunately for you, I prefer to keep a record of things. Sierra keeps claiming that things are messy between us. If I don't have a shred of evidence to prove my innocence, I suppose I'd have no choice but to take the blame."

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
