Come to think of it, if a man like Sebastian was genuinely interested in a woman and decided to pursue her, he would be utterly lethal. Every move would be calculated and devastating; he wouldn't waste a single ounce of energy on anything trivial.
"Sebastian is so thoughtful," Rowan laughed softly. "Raelynn hates anything tedious. She has zero patience. Even though she's brilliant, she just refuses to put in the effort when it comes to the little things. I think you two complement each other perfectly."
"Mom!"
Raelynn hadn't expected her own mother to sell her out so quickly.
Sebastian casually cracked another crab leg, a faint, devastating smirk playing on his lips. "It's true. She has absolutely no patience."
Raelynn decided she was done talking to both of them.
She kept her head down and focused on eating.
Sebastian shelled a few more, distributing the meat to Lily, Rowan, and Arthur.
Arthur was in incredibly high spirits. He pulled out a bottle of premium liquor he had been saving for a special occasion and insisted on having a few drinks with Sebastian.
Sebastian didn't turn him down.
The table was filled with constant, warm laughter.
Raelynn, who had been sitting rigidly at the start of the meal, slowly felt herself relaxing into the atmosphere.
As dinner wrapped up, Raelynn escorted Rowan and Arthur to the bathroom to wash up.
Lily finally looked up at Sebastian.
She lowered her voice into a serious whisper. "Aren't you going home? Did you just come here to see my mom?"
Sebastian wiped his hands thoroughly with a wet napkin and glanced down at her. "Can't I be here to see you?"
Lily clutched her spoon, eyeing him with deep suspicion. "Are you really not going to fight Mom for custody?"
"I'm not." He slid a bowl of ice cream toward her. "You're going to live a very happy life with your mom forever."
"Are you not fighting for me because you don't like me?" In Lily's tiny world, that was the only logical conclusion.
Sebastian paused. He shifted in his chair, leaning his elbows on his knees so he was at eye level with the little girl. "I love you very much. But you're better off with your mom. Just like you, I don't want to see her sad. The fact that we made this decision peacefully has nothing to do with me not loving you."
"Do you love Mama too?"
"..." Sebastian stared into those bright, innocent eyes for a long, quiet moment. "Yes. I do."
Lily gripped her spoon, her little brow furrowing in deep thought for a long time.
"Then you're going to be really sad. Mama is really hard to win over. You broke her heart, so you probably won't ever get her back."
Sebastian's gaze drifted toward the hallway.
She walked him to the elevator bank and checked the time on her phone. "It's almost midnight. Drive safe."
"I will."
"I'm not walking you all the way down."
"That's fine."
They stood side by side in silence. Raelynn kept her eyes glued to the glowing numbers on the elevator display, watching it approach their floor.
Ding—
The doors slid open.
Sebastian suddenly turned to look at her.
"Let me ask you a question."
"Go ahead."
"Is there any universe where the two of us still have a future?"
"No."

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
