Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 96

That crisp, sweet little voice was jarringly loud.

Every single pair of eyes instantly zeroed in on the open car window.

Sebastian's dark eyes locked intensely onto the little girl.

Following the direction of her gaze...

His pitch-black pupils reflected Raelynn's face, pale and bloodless from the biting wind.

The world seemed to mute itself.

Raelynn almost forgot to react.

A wave of ice-cold dread swept through her, leaving her limbs frozen and rigid.

Suddenly, Chloe took a massive leap forward and firmly grabbed Lily's small hand. "Oh, be a good girl, sweetie! Go home and rest first. Once I'm done with work, I'll take you to Universal Studios, okay?"

Chloe's body perfectly blocked Sebastian's probing gaze.

Lily had originally wanted to act spoiled and ask Raelynn to sleep over for the night.

But with Chloe's sudden interruption.

Lily's eyes darted around until she somewhat understood. "Oh, okay. Make sure you video call me!"

Chloe smiled so hard her face practically cramped.

The car window rolled back up.

Alistair knew he couldn't stick around to keep cursing them out.

Recognizing that Raelynn still hadn't officially broken free from the Croix family and couldn't afford any massive scandals, he swiftly got into the car and ordered the driver to leave.

Chloe turned around, pretending to be deeply exasperated. "Ugh, whenever the poor baby gets sick, she misses her mom so much she calls everyone 'Mom'."

Raelynn pressed her nails into her fingertips. "I understand. Kids are just like that."

Sebastian's gaze remained anchored on Raelynn, who stood there acting as if none of this had anything to do with her.

Seraphina noticed his intense focus.

Her lips tightened. She wrapped her arm around Sebastian's. "Sebastian, she really seems to want a child..."

Everyone present easily understood the hidden barb in Seraphina's words.

Leo naturally picked up on it too, raising an eyebrow. "You don't need to worry about that. Seb would never let a woman he doesn't love have his child and use it to control him."

Hearing this, the corners of Seraphina's mouth slowly curled upward.

She didn't even try to hide her sickeningly sweet smile from Raelynn.

It was as if she had just conquered the entire world!

Leo had made absolutely no effort to lower his voice either.

Raelynn heard every single word crystal clear.

Raelynn didn't give her the chance to explode.

She pulled Chloe along and walked away.

She obviously felt Sebastian's dark, chilling gaze burning into her back.

But she didn't slow her pace.

She marched forward, never looking back.

A subtle ripple crossed Sebastian's brow.

Raelynn had grown a lot of thorns lately. She wasn't throwing hysterical tantrums, but she could still casually draw blood.

"Raelynn is better at saving face than I thought," Leo remarked in surprise, shaking his head.

"In the agreement I saw yesterday, she demanded a child. Today, she pretends she couldn't care less. Playing hard to get, huh?"

"What agreement?" Seraphina caught the critical detail.

Leo was surprised. "Seb didn't tell you?"

Sebastian slowly withdrew his gaze, shooting Leo a cool, warning look.

Leo suddenly realized his mistake. "Oh, I get it. Seb didn't want to ruin your mood. Raelynn's condition for the divorce was that Seb gives her a child first. She wanted to use the process to foster feelings and then use the kid to secure her spot and trap him."

Seraphina looked stunned, then turned to Sebastian, a trace of fury hidden in her eyes. "Sebastian, you wouldn't actually..."
