Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 587

"Mr. Kane…" Sobbing, Giselle mumbled incoherently, "Something's happened. Donovan… We're in Haleona. Please come here right now…"

After that, she told Ethan everything that had happened on the deserted island. That sent him into a panic.

"Benjamin should be there now. Get in touch with him for now. He has a few assistants with him. Get him to the island."

At that moment, she recalled that Donovan had contacted Benjamin two days ago, telling Benjamin to send a private jet with supplies to them. He even gave Benjamin an address.

If Benjamin had left home last morning, he would have been near the old lady's abode, where she and Donovan had lived!

She quickly reached out to Benjamin. Upon learning about the critical situation, he immediately rushed to the pier with his two assistants.

At the same time, the police rescue boat had made its way to that island.

Yet, Giselle could wait no more. Now that she was safe, she immediately got onto another boat with Benjamin and the two assistants to search for Donovan.

Sitting in the boat, she felt her limbs grow cold. Her mind went blank. She had flashbacks of Donovan telling her to run as he held down Teddy.

She imagined all the different deaths Donovan might have suffered. Before long, tears welled up in her eyes.

She hadn't known that the glance she cast at Donovan from the boat hours ago would be her last.

It was hard to believe she had lost him—just after they'd reconciled and spent a few precious days together.

Perhaps they were never meant to be. One of them was always destined to leave, and their paths would never cross again.

Benjamin and the assistants immediately got out of the boat to get a hold on the situation. As for Giselle, she sat stiffly in her seat.

Trembling in fear, she could not summon the courage to leave the boat and face the tragic news that might cause her to faint.

The island was shrouded in peace, occasionally punctuated by chirping birds.

From the corner of her eye, she saw the police and medical staff hauling something in a hurry. Their heads hung low as they checked on the item.

Knowing that her worst fear had come true, she started feeling dizzy and breathless.

At that moment, Benjamin hurried over. He yelled, "Mrs. Kane, get out of the boat! Go check on Mr. Kane!"
