Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 686

The person standing behind her was none other than Anne.

Giselle's heart sank when she saw Anne.

She quickly calmed herself, refraining from reacting too strongly. Then, she calmly asked, "What do you want?"

Anne crossed her arms, her lips curling into a malicious smile. "Ha! Giselle, why are you so wary? Last time, we were even in the fight. So why are you afraid of me?"

Giselle didn't want to engage any further. She finished washing her hands and turned to leave.

But Anne deliberately stepped in her path. "Look, I'm here to apologize. I'm really sorry for what happened last time. Please, stop avoiding me."

Giselle suspected that Anne's mental state was not entirely stable. Since she was pregnant, she didn't want to escalate the confrontation. So, she chose to ignore Anne.

"Giselle…"

As Anne attempted to approach Giselle again to hold her back from leaving, Chris suddenly entered the restroom. With a swift motion, he grabbed Anne by the arm and shoved her forcefully to the ground.

"Ah!" Anne hit the floor hard, her back colliding with the hard ground. Groaning in pain, she looked up at Chris, her expression stiffening.

"Who the hell are you?" she yelled angrily as she tried to get up. "How could you barge into the women's restroom like this? Are you blind?"

Before she could finish her words, Chris was already hauling her out of the restroom by the arm while ignoring her rant. Her screams of pain echoed down the hallway.

Giselle followed quickly after them. From behind, she saw that Chris was dragging Anne toward the stairs, and when they reached it, he gave Anne another shove, sending her tumbling down the steps.

"Understood." Chris nodded.

He turned to Giselle, then asked, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Anne, still sitting on the ground, seethed with anger. She shouted at him, "You blind fool! Are you trying to kill me? Didn't you see how high those stairs are? My leg's probably broken now!"

Hearing that, Giselle found Anne's behavior strange. Normally, after such an incident, Anne would already be calling the police, yet here she was yelling at the stranger who had hurt her.

Chris ignored Anne and focused his attention on Giselle's safety. "Come on, let's get you back to the office."
