Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 731

"Is it because of your so-called ex-girlfriend?" Giselle asked.

"No." Chris didn't quite dare meet her eyes and looked away.

After that, he went over today's schedule with her and asked, "Do you want to change anything?"

She thought for a moment. "How about we cancel the afternoon trip to that plantation in the southern district and move it to tomorrow? I plan to check out the new flagship store."

When she said she wanted to cancel the plan, Chris' gaze flickered obviously.

After pausing for a few seconds, he said, "Let's stick to today's plan and go to the plantation. I checked the weather, and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Moreover, the owner is going on a business trip, so he won't be available."

"Really?" Hearing that, Giselle hesitated too.

Sweetson Pharmaceuticals mainly ran a pharmacy chain, but it entered the alternative medicine industry more than a decade ago. Relying on its strong retail channels, it had aggressively developed its alternative medicine segment.

So, besides having its own large-scale plantations, Sweetson Pharmaceuticals also worked with many suppliers who grew medicinal herbs.

This afternoon's destination was a plantation focused on growing Hiricum. Since this was a newly partnered supplier, she planned to inspect the site in person.

"Alright then," Giselle weighed her options and felt it wouldn't be great to cancel at the last minute after making an appointment.

"We'll keep the schedule as is and go at the originally agreed time."

So, at 2:30 pm, accompanied by Chris, Giselle took a cab to a large plantation on the outskirts of the southern district.

At this point, guessing that Chris might be the key point of contact on Giselle's side, the female assistant handed him her business card. "Hello, I'm Mr. Colt's assistant. For any follow-up details, please contact me directly. How should I address you?"

Chris took the card, glanced at the assistant's name, and froze. "Holt?"

"Yes." The assistant found his reaction strange. "Is there a problem?"

"Your name is Nora Holt?" Chris muttered, still staring at the business card.

Seeing Nora's puzzled look, Giselle also turned to Chris and asked, "What's wrong?"

Chris lifted his eyes and met Giselle's gaze. That special, long-ago name stirred ripples in his heart; without realizing it, his stare became fixed.
