Donovan didn't notice Chris' strange behavior as he rushed straight into the ward and threw himself in front of Giselle.

"Darling, how are you feeling?" he asked, looking her over. He only relaxed when he noticed that she hadn't miscarried.

"I'm fine," Giselle replied, still recovering from her earlier panic as she squeezed a smile on her face.

Then, she added, "The doctor's already checked up on me and informed me that the baby is fine. Besides, I wouldn't be wheeled into a regular ward if something bad really did happen. I'd have been placed in the ICU instead."

Donovan wiped the cold sweat from his forehead before inquiring, "What happened? Matt told me that you had another episode and they had to call an ambulance."

Giselle didn't answer him immediately because she noticed Chris still hadn't left. Instead, he was leaning against the doorway as if waiting for something. His presence unruffled her barely soothed feathers.

Donovan followed her gaze to the door in the face of her silence.

Chris used the chance to approach Donovan. He looked nonchalant, but there was an obvious glint of sadness in his eyes.

He personally bade Donovan farewell. "Mr. Kane, I'm leaving."

Alas, Donovan didn't catch what he was actually implying. So, he said, "Don't leave just yet. I want to discuss something with you in a bit."

Then, he tossed Chris the keys to his Rolls-Royce before Chris could get a word in. "Help me park my car. I have it parked at the main entrance."

He had left in a hurry when he heard the news of Giselle's episode. He was in such a rush that he didn't even call the driver, choosing to drive to the hospital.

Since Giselle was hospitalized at the Tranquil General Hospital, he received no special treatment despite being a tycoon and driving a car worth tens of thousands of dollars. After all, he didn't have a dedicated parking spot in this hospital.
