"Zachary is still young so there is no rush. Besides, great-grandchildren are a generation removed. It isn't the same bond as having grandchildren. I just want to see the Kane family grow a bit more before I close my eyes for the last time."
With that, Dorothea turned around, cradling Emma, and walked out to the garden with the maternity nurse to catch some sun. Giselle was left standing there, staring blankly at the empty spot.
A few days later, Giselle returned to Sweetson Pharmaceuticals to formally resume her duties. During her pregnancy and recovery, Donovan had managed the critical decisions, and the executives had kept her in the loop. Consequently, the workload was not too overwhelming.
She finished a meeting with the purchasing center and returned to her office just before noon. She leaned back in her leather chair and pulled out her phone to relax for a few minutes. While mindlessly scrolling, she stumbled upon a short video titled "Billionaire Heiress' Grand Wedding."
The bride and groom were none other than Gideon and Marselle.
Her eyes locked onto the screen. The video showed a beach setting that was nothing short of breathtaking. It was a sea of romantic floral arrangements, luxurious and grand.
Accompanied by music and the applause of guests seated on the sand, Gideon and Marselle walked slowly down the aisle. He wore a white groom's suit while she stunned in a white gown.
Standing on the stage and guided by the officiant, they began their vows. They exchanged rings and then shared a kiss while the crowd erupted in applause.
In the video, Gideon wore a faint smile. His eyes were filled with love and tenderness as he looked at Marselle. The sorrow and gloom of the past had vanished from his face, replaced by the happiness and joy expected of a groom.
