Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 11

What a lawless, spoiled child!

Caspian felt a headache coming on. “How old are you? Why are you still talking like a child? This isn't just about you and Damien; it involves the Ravenshire and Whitmore families. Besides, if you divorce, what happens to Bianca?”

At the mention of her daughter, Talia's resolve hardened. “Bianca is my daughter. Of course she'll stay with me!”

Caspian’s fingertips tapped lightly on the rosewood table. “That's even more ridiculous. Do you have any idea what kind of family the Whitmores are? Do you think they'd ever agree to let you take Bianca?”

Talia fell silent for a moment before looking up at the old man. “They might be powerful, but not as powerful as you. Dad, please, help me get Bianca.”

The old man glared at his disobedient daughter, his patience wearing thin. “Bianca's last name is Whitmore. As her grandfather on her mother's side, I have less claim than her paternal one. If I just take her, what do you think people will say about me?”

Talia’s mind raced as she scanned the room for an opening. “If you’re willing, I’ll have Bianca’s name changed to Ravenshire by tomorrow morning. I'm taking her back for good. Besides, since when do you care what people say? If anyone gossips, just toss them into Silverwind Bay to feed the fish. Let’s see who dares to talk then.”

Caspian nearly raised his cane to strike her. “You insolent brat!”

Talia had only been lashing out. Seeing her father's fury, she immediately softened her tone. “Dad! Bianca is my everything. Please, just help me! There isn’t a single good person in the Whitmore family; I can't leave her there. I’ve never asked you for anything in my entire life. This one time, I’m begging you, please, Dad?”

Caspian pinched the bridge of his nose. “Nonsense. Of all the children in this family, you’ve always been the most demanding. You've been asking for things since you were little. Was there ever anything you got that you didn't demand yourself?”

Talia was not ready to give up. “Dad!”

The old man sighed softly. “My youngest, tell me the truth. Why are you so insistent on divorcing Damien? You were the one who threatened to kill yourself to marry him in the first place, and now you want to just throw it all away. I’ll say it again: Bianca is still young. You’re a mother now. You can’t be so impulsive.”

Talia froze, her expression stiffening.

Caspian saw right through her. “Is it because Damien is seeing another woman?”

Talia’s gaze flickered, but she didn’t answer.

Having seen it all before, Caspian leaned on his cane. “That’s not such a big deal. I’ll step in and set him straight. Even if Damien doesn't have any sense, his parents do. They’ll show me that much respect.”

When Talia still didn't speak, Caspian tried again, his tone earnest. “Listen to your father. Go home and talk things over properly.”

“Talk? Talk about what?” Talia suddenly flared up, her voice sharp. “Dad, call me ungrateful, call me heartless, I don’t care. Damien and I are getting a divorce! Nothing anyone says will change my mind!”

Seeing that she was completely unreasonable, the old man’s anger flared as well. He struck the floor hard with his ornate silver-topped cane. “Say that to me one more time!”

Cedric, who had been waiting outside the garden, heard the commotion and rushed in to restrain Talia. “Ms. Talia, please, speak calmly.”

Talia forced herself to pull it together, managing a faint smile. “Cedric, I’ll leave Dad in your care.”

Cedric had watched Talia grow up. He knew that while she was spoiled, her heart was in the right place. He softened his tone. “Ms. Talia, the old master is angry right now. In a couple of days, once he’s calmed down, it will be fine. Why don’t you come back to see him then?”

Talia understood Cedric’s good intentions and nodded. “I know what to do. Bianca should be waking up soon. I’ll go check on her.”

Cedric nodded. Just as Talia turned to leave, he suddenly remembered something and called out to her. “Ms. Talia.”

Talia paused and turned back to face him. “Is there something else?”

Cedric hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Ms. Talia, Miss Lexton’s grandmother was not the old master’s mistress.”

Talia was taken aback, not expecting Cedric to tell her such a thing.

Cedric’s tone was solemn. “Others may not understand, but you of all people should. You know what kind of man the old master is. He has his reasons for honoring the kindness of someone from his past. There are some things, no matter how angry you get, that you can never say again. They must not be said.”

With that, Cedric gave a slight nod and turned back toward Northwing Court, leaving Talia to ponder his words.
