Early the next morning, two uninvited guests arrived at Northwing Court.
Caspian sat upright in a rosewood chair, staring at the silver bracelet in his hand. He remained silent, lost in thought for a full ten minutes.
Serena nervously drank her third cup of tea before finally speaking, choosing her words carefully. "Yesterday, while I was tidying up, I happened to find something that belonged to my late mother-in-law. It's my fault my memory is so poor, but this is something Vivienne's grandmother entrusted to me to give to her."
The old man's expression was unreadable, and Serena couldn't gauge his thoughts. She had no choice but to press on. "When my mother-in-law knew she didn't have much time left, she kept calling, urging me to come back. She told me that Vivienne was being bullied at school because she didn't have parents, and that I had to come back and take good care of her. Thinking back now, I feel I've truly failed to honor her wishes."
As she spoke, Serena's eyes reddened, and she dabbed at the corners. "You were right, Mr. Ravenshire. I was too harsh on Vivienne in the past. But you must believe me, I only wanted to teach her to be a good person."
"Vivienne is still angry with me and won't answer my calls, so I must trouble you to pass this bracelet on to her. I've also had time to think. Vivienne is incredibly lucky to have earned your affection; it’s a blessing she doesn't deserve. There's not much more I can do for her as her mother. So, Isabella and I have discussed it, and we've decided to return to Vindrell City after Vivienne's fourteenth birthday."

Meanwhile, Isabella sat in a pavilion, looking around. Although she had lived at Obsidian Estate for three years, she had only visited Northwing Court a handful of times. The place was a masterpiece of classical architecture, boasting intricate woodwork and grand designs that spoke of old-world luxury. Every corner was a magnificent visual feast.
Isabella craned her neck to look toward the inner courtyard, her eyes filled with veiled jealousy. She'd heard that Vivienne had been living here recently. They both came from humble beginnings, and Vivienne wasn't even as accomplished as she was. Why did that idiot get to have all of this so effortlessly?
The more she thought about it, the more resentful she became. Glancing around, she discreetly took out her phone. She snapped several photos of the courtyard and sent them all to the new student group for the international program at Crestline Academy. Unsatisfied, she then aimed her camera toward Caspian and Serena, zoomed in as far as she could, and snapped another picture, immediately posting it to the group.
[Isabella: I know you all said you wanted to come visit my home. I'm so sorry I couldn't host because I've been sick. I felt terrible about it, so I came to Northwing Court today to take some pictures for everyone.]
Crestline Academy didn't start until September, and the new students hadn't been divided into classes yet. She had posted in the general new student group for the middle school, which meant every student in the international program could see her messages.
[Isabella: Oh my gosh! *shocked emoji* So sorry, my hand slipped. I posted in the wrong group.]
[Wait, was that the legendary elder Mr. Ravenshire in the background just now? He looks quite young. And who's that with him? To be sitting and having morning tea with the old man? @Isabella]
Although Isabella had deleted the photos, many quick-fingered students had already saved them. One sharp-eyed person soon pointed out that one of the pictures showed two people chatting in the sunroom. Even though it was just a blurry side profile of Caspian, anyone with half a brain could deduce the old man's identity.
This was precisely the "accidental" effect Isabella had been aiming for.
[Isabella: That's my mother. Grandpa is very concerned about my studies and life. They're just having morning tea and chatting right now. Ugh, I haven't studied much since I've been sick. I hope Mom doesn't say the wrong thing in front of him~]
