Julian took a breath, removed his headgear and gloves, and pulled out his mouthguard. He walked straight toward Cyril, deliberately bumping his shoulder as he passed.
Cyril looked up, his gaze narrowing into a sharp, piercing stare.
Julian smirked. "Not bad. But you won't be so lucky next time."
"Is that so?" Cyril raised a hand to pat his bumped shoulder and gave a faint smile.
Julian's expression darkened. As he walked past, he also patted his own shoulder.
The old man saw this and nodded in satisfaction. "Good! They both have a lot of personality. It'll be even livelier when Alaric gets back to Obsidian Estate."
Are you sure about that? Cedric couldn't even imagine the scene.
Fifteen minutes later, Julian and Cyril emerged from the showers in clean clothes. Both had just showered; Julian's hair was still dripping wet, while Cyril had already applied medicine to his bruises.
Julian let out a cold snort and deliberately shook his head in front of Cyril, splattering water all over his face.
Cyril stood there in silence.
Julian said, "Sorry, Cyril, I didn't see you there." Without waiting for a reaction, he walked over to Caspian with a grin. "Grandpa, what were you shouting about earlier?"
Julian put down his water glass and shot the old man a sideways glance. "See? I told you, you favor the girls! A silly girl who's been chased by a dog for half a month is worth your tears?"
Caspian glared at the little brat. "What do you know? Listen, doing what you like is instinct. But having the ability to do what you don't want to do—that's real strength. This isn't about the apology anymore. Bianca is conquering herself."
Julian’s gaze faltered, and for a moment, he didn't argue.
Caspian wiped his moist eyes, his gaze shifting between Cyril and Julian. He spoke earnestly, "Remember this. A person's greatest enemy isn't someone else; it's themselves. Everyone has desires, things they want to do. When you can go against your own wishes to do what must be done, and control your own mind to think what you dare not think, only then will you be a qualified leader."
"Your cousins are already catching up. You boys need to step it up."
