Half a month passed in the blink of an eye.
The Apex Ecological Base, in the western suburbs of Evershade City.
Ring X.
Julian threw a vicious punch at Cyril’s right cheek.
Even with the headgear, the proximity of the blow made Cyril’s head ring. He took a tactical step back, shaking his head forcefully to clear it.
Julian bounced on his feet, tauntingly waving his fists. "Sorry about that, Cyril. Guess I hit a little too hard."
Cyril felt the bones in his right cheek go numb.
He said nothing, just bit down hard on his mouthguard and swung back. Julian didn't dodge. The two collided, trading punches and kicks. They were so vicious, you’d never guess they were related.
Jasper, seeing their blows getting darker, glanced at Caspian outside the ring.
To his surprise, the old man couldn't have cared less about the situation on the stage. He was wearing his reading glasses, engrossed in his phone.
Even Cedric was getting uneasy. He leaned in and whispered, "Sir…"
"Huh?" Caspian looked up with a cheerful smile, only just noticing the fierce battle raging on. "Oh! They're fighting? Don't worry about it. Boys will be boys. As long as they don't break any arms or legs, we don't need to interfere." He then went back to his phone.
Cedric shot Jasper a look that said everything.
Jasper silently stepped aside.
Julian had been learning fighting techniques since he was six, while Cyril was just a beginner of a few weeks. There was no way he could be Julian's opponent; he mostly just took a beating.
Just like now, Julian had the complete upper hand, pinning Cyril down and pummeling him.
Sure enough, Cyril snapped his head up, slamming it against Julian’s. Even with helmets, Cyril was willing to hurt himself just to land a blow. This ferocity caught Julian off guard. In the brief moment Julian was blinded, Cyril flipped him over, got on top, and rained down punches that landed with meaty thuds.
Julian's teeth chattered from the blows. He could only shield his face with his arms and kick at Cyril's stomach.
Cyril had anticipated that move. After landing one last punch on Julian's right cheek, he immediately jumped back several meters.
"You son of a…"
Julian staggered to his feet, his eyes burning with a murderous glare, as if he wanted to tear Cyril to pieces.
Cyril wasn't in much better shape. The reckless fighting style had left his whole body trembling.
The two teenagers were like young lions on the savanna, locked in a feud, neither willing to submit to the other.
Caspian, seemingly oblivious, laughed it off like nothing had happened. "Alright, that's enough training for today. Go get changed, you both stink."
