In this world, no matter how intelligent, dutiful, or brave a person was, they couldn't overcome the double-whammy debuff of being lovesick and holier-than-thou. No wonder Aurelia’s end was so tragic.
“Huh?” Bianca didn’t hear clearly. “She has a toothpick on her head?”
Vivienne averted her gaze, skipping the topic entirely. “It’s nothing. Did you bring the fake blood I asked for?”
Bianca’s expression immediately shifted to a dark, scheming grin. “Hehe, I brought a ton.”

Meanwhile.
Back in the classroom, the more Julianne thought about it, the more annoyed she became. Through the window, she happened to see Vivienne and Bianca parting ways in the hallway. A dark glint flashed in Julianne’s eyes. Bianca and Aurelia were one thing, but Vivienne was nothing more than a lapdog the Ravenshires took in. How dare she act so high and mighty?
The resentment in her heart screamed for revenge. Julianne stood up and casually grabbed an unused utility knife from her art supplies.
She needed to be taught a lesson.
Julianne kicked the seat in front of her. “Let’s go.”
The two girls who followed Julianne turned pale with fear, but they were too scared of retaliation to disobey and had no choice but to follow.
Vivienne wasn’t in the same class as Bianca. After they said their goodbyes, Vivienne headed toward the third-year classroom. She was stopped at the door by Julianne.
Vivienne tried to go around one way, but Julianne blocked her again. After a few attempts, Vivienne’s patience ran out. She looked up at Julianne. “What do you want?”
Julianne gestured to her minions on either side. The two girls had to force themselves to act friendly as they dragged Vivienne out of the classroom.
Before this, Vivienne had always been a willing lackey for Julianne, running all sorts of errands just to get closer to her. So, when Julianne led her away, the other students in the class didn’t pay much attention.
“What are you trying to do?”
Vivienne was pushed into a corner, her shoulders pinned back by the two girls.
Julianne took out the utility knife and waved it menacingly. “Vivienne, you’ve gotten quite a temper over the summer, haven’t you? You think having Bianca on your side means you’re untouchable?”
Vivienne looked at the small blade, which was less than an inch long, and shook her head. “No, I don’t think that at all.”
“You don’t?” Julianne suddenly erupted in fury. “I think you do! You ignored my messages all summer, didn’t do a single thing I asked, and today you have the nerve to defy me?”
Vivienne remained silent. The fourteen-year-old Julianne was so incredibly childish.
Seeing that Vivienne showed no signs of fear, Julianne felt insulted and flew into a rage. “Vivienne, you really think I won’t do anything to you?”
“No~” Vivienne’s expression collapsed into a mask of pure terror. “Please!” she shrieked, her voice trembling. “Don’t kill me!”
Just as Julianne was about to gloat, the girl before her suddenly broke into a sweet smile. In the struggle, Vivienne grabbed her hand, and the sharp knife plunged into her own chest.
*Pop!*
Students in Crestline Academy’s elite classes were almost all promoted from within; transfer students were rare. This time, however, they had two new arrivals, and the classroom buzzed with unprecedented excitement.
Alaric sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by enthusiastic and welcoming classmates.
Cyril sat in a corner by the window. Due to his sensitive background, almost no one approached him. But he was so distractingly handsome that the girls’ gazes were constantly drawn to him.
Lucas Aven stared at the two newcomers for a long time, then patted Julian’s shoulder sympathetically. “Alaric is one thing, but now they’ve dropped a Cyril on us too. Julian, I really feel for you.”
“Get lost.”
Julian was already annoyed. He had no idea what had gotten into his grandfather, insisting on cramming all of them into the same elite class.
Lucas was from Julian’s mother’s side of the family, making them cousins. Others might fear Julian, but he didn’t.
Looking at Alaric, who was the center of attention, Lucas shook his head with a click of his tongue. “Power really is a wonderful thing. The prince must think everyone around him is a good person.”
Alaric didn’t seem annoyed by the barrage of questions. In fact, he handed an invitation to everyone who spoke to him.
Lucas found it odd. “I heard that in a week, your grandfather is throwing a massive homecoming banquet for the prince, right? Invitations are nearly impossible to get, but the prince is just handing them out to everyone. He’s surprisingly approachable.”
Julian let out a cold laugh.
That was because his grandfather had given the idiot a thousand invitations. If he didn’t hand them all out today, he’d be getting a personal demonstration of a special kind of torture tonight.
