“Waaaah!”
Hysterical sobs echoed periodically from a small room in the infirmary. Ms. Quinn fought the urge to cover her ears. When she turned and saw the girl covered in blood giving her an innocent smile, her sense of helplessness peaked.
Seriously, how could this kid be smiling after causing such a huge mess?
Vivienne said, “Ma’am, my chest really hurts. Hasn’t the ambulance arrived yet?”
Ms. Quinn’s expression was indescribable.
Who could understand her predicament? When she first saw the blood-soaked scene, she nearly fainted on the spot. But just as she was about to pass out, the school doctor picked up the ‘unconscious’ Vivienne and said, “This one’s fine. Go check on the other one. She seems to be in a more serious condition. She’s completely in shock.”
The good news: the murder was fake.
The bad news: the Whitmore heiress was scared out of her wits.
This incident was so major that the entire upper management of Crestline Academy was alerted. The school administrators, who were initially gearing up to assign blame, immediately changed their tune upon hearing that the incident involved the Ravenshire and Whitmore families.
Everyone knew that Crestline Academy owed its prestigious status to the strong support of various powerful families. The families provided funding, and Crestline Academy was responsible for educating their young masters and misses. Therefore, no matter how big the issue, if it involved Athelvia’s old-money aristocrats, it wasn’t an issue at all.
In the past, Vivienne would have certainly been punished. After all, she was just an adopted daughter with the Ravenshire name, incomparable to a true heiress like Julianne.
However, Caspian had previously held Crestline Academy accountable over Vivienne’s grades, even demanding a change of her homeroom teacher. This had served as a stark warning to the school.
Mira Easton, the girl who had been bullied in the bathroom earlier, stared blankly as Vivienne and Bianca played off each other.
Not long after Aurelia had brought her to the infirmary, Vivienne and Julianne were also brought in. On top of that, a stream of administrators had been coming and going.
From their hushed conversations, Mira had pieced together what happened: Vivienne had tricked Julianne and scared her senseless.
When she realized this, Mira was in disbelief. But after witnessing the school’s attitude toward Vivienne, she finally accepted the reality of the situation and silently curled up in a corner, trying to make herself as small as possible.
Vivienne’s stunt was an undeniable message to everyone: she was not to be messed with.
