Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 198

In her past life, Vivienne was the one who had been unwilling.

It had happened on her twentieth birthday. Caspian threw the most extravagant birthday bash the city had ever seen, with every political and business elite in Athelvia in attendance.

That night, Vivienne felt like a princess straight out of a fairy tale, showered in affection. Wearing the most breathtaking gown and glittering jewels, she reveled in the endless praises.

Caspian had promised her that when the clock struck midnight, he would announce to the world that she was no longer Vivienne Lexton, but Vivienne Ravenshire.

She had waited ten years for that day. Although she had feelings for Alaric Ravenshire, she wanted to be Caspian's granddaughter far more than she wanted to be Alaric's wife.

She had anticipated that ceremony with her entire soul. She hadn't dared to touch a drop of alcohol all night, terrified of making a fool of herself.

She navigated the entire banquet with painstaking caution.

But just before midnight, Serena Lowe handed her a glass of fruit wine. The next thing Vivienne knew, she was waking up in a strange bed.

A foreign, burning heat rushed through her veins, sending her into a blind panic. Her first instinct was to check her clothes. Finding them fully intact, she let out a shaky breath.

She forced herself to stay calm. For something like this to happen at such an event meant someone was either trying to ruin her or smear the Ravenshire family. Both scenarios were a disaster.

She tumbled out of bed and crawled toward the door, inch by agonizing inch. Through the heavy wood, she heard absolutely nothing.

Despair washed over her. She had been one step away from officially becoming Grandpa's granddaughter. Why was she being punished like this?

She pounded on the door, screaming until her throat was raw, praying someone would save her.

Perhaps fate had taken pity on her, because someone finally responded.

She pulled a black envelope from her bra. "There's half a note and half a memory card in here. Please give this to Elder Mr. Ravenshire. The Ravenshire family is our last hope. He dotes on you; he'll listen to you."

Vivienne barely glanced at it before snatching the envelope. "Yes, yes. I promise I'll speak up for you."

The girl still looked hesitant. She gripped Vivienne's hand, her knuckles turning white. "Miss Lexton, people died to get this secret out. Please..." Tears of blood seemed to well in the girl's eyes. "Please, don't betray me."

"I won't," Vivienne swore.

The girl slowly released her grip. "I can only take this final gamble and pray my luck holds."

With their pact sealed, the girl threw a heavy blanket over Vivienne and guided her out of the room, pretending to support a drunk friend.

Just then, the elevator chimed.
