A man in a sharp black suit stepped out of the elevator.

He didn't pay them any attention, striding straight down the hall.

Vivienne kept her head down. As they brushed past him, she caught sight of a Lily Tattoo on his left ring finger.

She began to tremble violently. Terrified they would be discovered, the girl pinched Vivienne's arm to keep her focused.

The man stopped in front of the room Vivienne had just escaped from. He reached into his suit jacket, searching for his keycard.

Ding.

The elevator chimed again.

Realizing his card was missing, the man whipped his head toward the elevator doors.

"Stop right there!"

Vivienne shook uncontrollably. Through her blurred vision, she saw the man sprinting toward them in a murderous rage.

"Hurry! Close it!"

The girl slammed her hand against the close button.

Just as the man's fingers grazed the panel, the metal doors slid shut.

"Don't be afraid. This elevator requires a keycard to go up. I have his card, so he can't follow us immediately. We'll head to the top floor. Once we reach the banquet hall, we're safe."

Vivienne was shaking so hard her teeth chattered, unable to utter a single word.

Ding.

The elevator stopped on the thirty-second floor.

But the banquet hall was on the thirty-third.

Before either of them could react, the doors slowly opened.

A squad of men in black suits stood waiting, laser guns leveled directly at them.

The girl's face drained of color. She lunged for the close button, but a hand shot into the cabin, stopping her.

A man wearing a wolf-fang mask grabbed the girl's wrist, yanked her out of the elevator, and slammed her brutally onto the marble floor.

One of the men pinned her shoulder down with his boot while the others ruthlessly searched her. Within seconds, the girl was battered and her clothes were torn.
