"Hell no, I don't remember!" Harrison screamed. He had been so brutally beaten that his mind went blank; all he remembered was a relentless storm of fists raining down from every direction.
Wait! There was one person who started it all!
Harrison snapped his head up, his eyes darting frantically until he spotted Vivienne perched on the car roof. "Her! It was her! Grab her! I'm going to rip her apart!"
Vivienne pouted, quickly scrambling down from the roof and darting behind Alaric like a frightened rabbit. "Don't wimp out on me," she whispered, "or I'm telling Caspian."
Alaric shot her a withering side-glance. "..."
Seeing her practically use Alaric as a human shield, Cyril's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Help me over there."
Harrison's face was twisted in pure malice. In his entire life, he had never suffered such humiliating degradation. He had completely lost his grip on reality. He didn't care that Alaric was standing in his way—at this point, he wouldn't have cared if Caspian himself was standing there.
Missing one shoe, Harrison hobbled furiously toward Alaric.
Mr. Finch didn't want to let the boy do anything reckless, but considering the state his young master was in, returning home without answers wasn't an option. He had no choice but to follow closely.
Seeing Vivienne cowering behind Alaric, Harrison assumed she was terrified. His gaze turned even more predatory. "Alaric, good dogs don't block the way. Get the hell out of my way!"
Alaric's face was an emotionless mask. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, Vivienne jabbed her elbow into his spine.
"Did you hear that?" she hissed. "He just called you a dog. Aren't you going to curse back?"
Alaric: "..."
Realizing Alaric wasn't going to lower himself to petty insults, Vivienne lifted the megaphone. "You're the dog! Your entire family is a pack of dogs!"
*Bzzzzzz—*
Everyone's ears instantly started ringing.
Alaric shifted his attention back to the Montclair men. "The Ravenshire family will investigate what happened today. When the truth is clear, you'll have your answer."
Mr. Finch's face hardened.
Alaric wasn't backing down, and they absolutely couldn't just forcefully bypass him to grab the girl. Alaric wasn't like the other billionaire heirs. His late father, Sebastian Ravenshire, had been a revered military commander—a martyr who died for his country. Half of Athelvia's top political and military leaders had been mentored by him. Alaric's path to absolute power was guaranteed.
"Alaric, you bastard..."
Still blinded by rage, Harrison tried to lunge forward, spewing curses. Mr. Finch moved instantly, clapping a hand over the boy's mouth.
Insulting the son of two martyred military heroes was a death wish.
Alaric's demeanor dropped to freezing point, his gaze sharpening into lethal daggers. "Your young master must have suffered brain damage in that fight. If you don't get him to a hospital right now, he might never be cured."
