At the edge of the night sky, the North Star twinkled as the evening breeze swept over the mountains and into the pavilion.
Vivienne Lexton sat by the pavilion window, lost in thought.
Marissa had finally finished organizing the eight racks of new clothes, pushing a cart of garments out of the walk-in closet.
"Miss Lexton, what should we do with these clothes?"
The discarded items were all bought by Serena Lowe. Serena would take all her monthly allowance and buy her a few out-of-season designer knockoffs just to maintain her image as a 'good mother.'
Vivienne didn't even bother lifting her eyelids. "Trash them."
Marissa paused. "Miss Lexton, many of these are still new with the tags on. The brands aren't cheap either. Wouldn't it be a waste to throw them away?"
Vivienne thought about it and suddenly agreed. "You're right, it would be a shame to just toss them. Let's clear out the room by the first-floor terrace to store all the unused clothes."
Marissa looked unsure. "The room Isabella used to stay in?"
Vivienne hummed in confirmation. "Is there a problem?"
Marissa quickly shook her head. "No problem. But Isabella left a lot of things in there, so it might take a little time to empty it out."
Isabella hadn't cleared her things because she thought she was only moving out temporarily and would eventually return.
But this time, she and Serena had miscalculated.
Vivienne's lips curled. "How is she still so careless? Marissa, please do me a favor and pack everything up for her."

Gulfview Condos.
One second Isabella was chatting and laughing about gossip with her friends, and the moment she hung up, her face darkened completely.
Everyone was hounding her for invitations to Alaric's Homecoming Banquet, yet she didn't even know what the invitation looked like.
This wouldn't do. If she couldn't even attend the Ravenshire family banquet, her cover would be blown.
Frantic and out of ideas, Isabella picked up her phone to call Serena again. When it still didn't connect, her anxiety skyrocketed.
Ever since her mother said she was leaving for a while, she had been completely unreachable. Could something have happened?
Click.
Just then, the electronic lock on the front door chimed. Someone was home.
Isabella hurriedly stood up, but the words died in her throat at the sight before her.
Serena stumbled through the door wrapped around a man. Completely oblivious to her presence, the two were making out passionately. The man ground against Serena teasingly, and she responded with sheer, unadulterated enjoyment.
Thud.
Isabella's phone slipped from her grip and crashed onto the floor.
Serena snapped out of it, shoving the man away as she hastily smoothed down her clothes. "Isabella, you're home?" she asked, shooting the man a warning glare to behave.
Isabella looked sick, her gaze sweeping over the man with blatant hostility.
