Early the next morning.
Isabella woke up early on purpose, styling her hair into cute twin tails. She slipped into the camouflage uniform she had stayed up ironing and practiced her smile in front of the mirror.
No matter what, she had to find a way to get invitations for Lucille and the others. Otherwise, her social life at school would be over.
Like always, Isabella was dropped off a block away from the school. But this time, instead of walking through the front gates, she ducked into the parking lot.
When she lived at Obsidian Estate, she could use the VIP elevator straight from the garage to the school. Ever since moving out, she had lost that privilege.
Gripping her backpack straps, Isabella stared enviously at the luxury cars around her. But the moment she heard a door open, she would quickly turn and hide.
It hadn't been long, yet every passing car was flashier than the last.
Vroom—Vroom—
Suddenly, the roaring sound of a powerful engine echoed through the garage.
A sleek, obsidian sports car drifted past in a blur, executing a flawless spin before sliding perfectly into a reserved VIP spot.
Isabella's eyes lit up. Without a second thought, she clutched her backpack and rushed forward.
"Julian."
Julian lazily pushed his door open. The moment his foot hit the pavement, he heard his name.
He shot a sideways glance and saw a short girl he didn't recognize. He stepped out of the car unhurriedly.
"Julian," Isabella repeated, her face full of eager expectation.
"And you are?" Julian asked.
Isabella's smile faltered for a second. "Julian, you don't remember me? We met in elder Mr. Ravenshire's courtyard."
Julian's eyelids fluttered up. "Oh, right. The attention-seeker."
Isabella's mouth twitched. "Julian, I'm Vivienne's sister."
Julian turned slightly, his gaze raking over her casually. "Oh, the little lunatic's sister?"
Isabella froze. Little lunatic? What little lunatic?
Julian leaned against the car door, his tone icy. "Your sister scammed me out of seven hundred grand. Perfect timing. You're her sister, right? Pay up for her." He held out his hand expectantly.
