Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 290

In the tearoom, fragrant steam curled into the air.

The teacup on the opposite side of the table was empty.

Caspian rested in his armchair with his eyes closed, his brow etched with exhaustion.

"Grandpa," Julian's voice came from outside.

Caspian's eyelids fluttered, and he slowly opened them.

Soon, the door to the tearoom opened, and Julian strode up to the table. "Grandpa."

"Mhm." Caspian sat up straight and pointed to the seat across from him. "Sit."

Julian nodded. As he sat down, he noticed the used teacup on the table. He glanced up at Caspian and asked carefully, "Grandpa, were you just having tea with Grandma Cavanaugh?"

Caspian didn't answer immediately. He used bamboo tongs to pick up a fresh teacup, poured some tea, and handed it to Julian.

"Thank you, Grandpa." Julian stood up and took it with both hands.

Caspian tapped the table, gesturing for him to sit properly.

"Matriarch Cavanaugh left?"

Julian nodded. "Grandma told me to stay and visit her more often when I have time."

Caspian's gaze shifted slightly as he poured himself another cup of hot tea.

The rich tea settled into the crackled glaze of the white porcelain, forming golden lines. Seasoning the cracks in a teacup was an art, but what happens when cracks form between people?

Caspian sighed softly, put down his cup, and looked at Julian with affection.
