While they were talking, Cyril's interview ended, and the school administrators immediately gathered the students to attend the opening ceremony in the auditorium.
It was completely unoriginal.
Vivienne had no interest in attending. She waved a hand dismissively. "I'm so tired. I'm going to skip it and take a nap."
Bianca knew how easily she got lazy and nodded. "Alright, you rest. I'm going to see exactly what the school is planning by inviting those two priests from the Church of Heavenly Grace."
A short while later, Ms. Quinn walked into the classroom and had students to head to the auditorium.
Once the classroom was completely empty, Vivienne let out a lazy yawn, rested her head on her desk, and drifted off to sleep.
"Cyril, a garbage school like Crestline is completely unsuited for you. Staying there will only bury your talents. You should seriously reconsider the Global Collegiate Academy. If you're facing difficulties, the school can speak to your family on your behalf."
Cyril ascended the stairs, his tone gentle. "There are no difficulties."
"No difficulties?" The voice on the phone grew frantic. "Cyril, don't tell me you've been brainwashed by Crestline's obsession with fame and fortune?"
As Cyril turned onto the second floor, his gaze casually swept across the hallway, and his footsteps suddenly faltered.
Someone was fast asleep at a desk by the window. Half of her face was buried in her arms, while the other half was bathed in golden sunlight.
"Cyril, are you even listening to me? I'm telling you, you're still young. You might not realize how deeply power can corrupt academics. Once you start chasing authority, your research will be tainted. Your work won't change the world for the better. You need to come back immediately. Crestline truly isn't for you—they're going to ruin you."
Cyril's gaze remained tranquil. After a brief pause, he turned and walked toward the Class 3 on the second floor.
"Cyril, did you hear a word I just said?"
Cyril's expression was incredibly soft. "I heard you. But I can't come back."
The line disconnected.
As he hung up the phone, he came to a stop in front of a certain window in the corridor.
The girl sleeping by the window looked sweet and peaceful, completely devoid of her usual defensive edge. His arrival blocked the sunlight, casting his shadow over her cheek in a quiet, lingering caress.
