"Stellan, are you really going to accept Crestline's offer and transfer? Because if you are, that would be a massive loss for us."
The teenage boy in the center of the crowd had sharp, handsome features, slightly curly hair, and an effortlessly radiant smile.
"I only got the acceptance letter. I don't really get a say in whether I transfer; it all depends on what my family decides."
"No way! If you leave, our grade's overall average is going to tank!" his friends complained loudly, circling around him.
Stellan ran a hand through his hair with a helpless chuckle, his smile bright. "Don't say that. Our school is packed with geniuses. I'm hardly the only one pulling up the curve."
The girls, naturally drawn to his clean-cut, sunny demeanor, immediately began to tease him. "That's not the point! If you leave, who's going to carry the title of Stormhollow Central's resident heartthrob?"
"Exactly. Nobody looks better than you."
Stellan laughed, clearly amused. He was just about to offer a humble reply when an unexpected intruder carved her way through the crowd.
"Oh, really? Let me be the judge of that."
She slipped through the students with practiced ease, appearing right in front of him. Before he could even process her arrival, he was struck by a face of such ethereal beauty it seemed almost unfair—a girl who had clearly been blessed by every god imaginable.
Stellan was incredibly popular, always surrounded by a tight-knit circle of friends. Seeing a stranger march up and get so intimately close to him, the girls immediately reached out to yank Vivienne back. "Hey! Who do you think you are? Even if you're trying to confess, you don't have to be so rude about it."
"Confess? Are you talking about me?" Vivienne glanced back at the girl.
Holy shit! How is anyone allowed to be this pretty?
The girl froze. The crowd around them instantly realized that Vivienne's uniform was completely different from theirs.
She wore the Shield of the Rose, and every single button on her shirt screamed custom-tailored luxury.
An elite student from Crestline.
Terrified, the girl immediately let go of her arm. Crestline used its immense power to build an impenetrable wall between the wealthy and the ordinary, making public school students instinctively wary of anyone wearing that crest.
