The sudden pull on her wrist threw Aurelia off balance.

A damp, salty breeze blew across the calm water.

Aurelia stood frozen. As she looked back, the numbness in her eyes caught the reflection of the distant neon lights.

"Why is it you?" she murmured.

Ever since the evening banquet three years ago, Vivienne, Bianca, and Aurelia's relationship had practically hit rock bottom. Bianca, especially, hadn't given her a single kind look in three years. Talia had reprimanded Bianca countless times over it, but nothing worked.

Aurelia half-suspected that the Vivienne standing in front of her was just another hallucination.

Vivienne let go of her wrist and shook the plastic bag in her hand. She asked again, "Which one?"

Aurelia stared at the medication in her hand. It took her a long time to ask, "How do you have those?"

Vivienne replied, "Bought them at the hospital."

Aurelia's brows furrowed slightly.

Seeing her skepticism, Vivienne offered a smirk tinged with sarcasm. "What? You're the only one allowed to be a lunatic? Nobody else can have a mental illness?"

Aurelia turned back to face the vast expanse of water. "You were at the hospital too? You saw me? So you think I'm pathetic too? Yeah, begging people to believe I'm sick is pretty pathetic."

Vivienne glanced at the floating tag above Aurelia's head and shook her head. "Nope. I meant exactly what I said. Don't go reading into things and adding extra drama."

Aurelia hesitated, turning to look at Vivienne.
