Before she could finish, a large, well-manicured hand grabbed Aurelia's arm and pulled her behind him.
"She's right. You've severely disrupted our studying."
Lara was stunned, staring in disbelief at the boy in front of her.
Aurelia's heart pounded wildly. Hearing that voice, she didn't even dare to look up, just staring blankly at the hand wrapped around her arm.
"Preston, you're taking her side?"
Preston smiled faintly. "Is there a problem? She's our Student Council President. Even I have to listen to her."
Aurelia's chaotic heart skipped a beat before she snapped her head up to look at the boy, her eyes shining with sudden, intense heat.
Lara scowled, her expression instantly darkening.
Vivienne shook her head. She knew it. What was meant to happen would happen. Such blatant favoritism was nothing short of divine salvation for the deeply insecure Aurelia.
This world wasn't "A Saga of Power and Passion," yet it contained elements of its plot. A spin-off?
With Preston stepping in, Lara couldn't afford a total fallout. She forced down her anger and squeezed out a smile. "Fine! I'll talk to the crew."
Preston nodded. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, he kept his hand on Aurelia's arm and led her out of the cafeteria.
Lara gritted her teeth, glaring at their retreating backs as her smile completely solidified into a grimace.
The angriest person in the room was Julianne. She had thought her biggest rival was Mina, only to have Aurelia swoop in out of nowhere.
Never one to suffer in silence, she turned her wrath on Lara. "I thought you were something special. You spent all that effort trying to seduce Preston, and you still lost to Aurelia."
"What did you say?!" Lara was already hovering on the edge of a meltdown. Hearing this, she shoved Julianne hard.
Julianne wasn't one to back down either, shoving her right back.
In the blink of an eye, the two were brawling. Both entourages froze for a second before rushing in to break up the fight.
