Cyril was the first to recover. The gentle warmth completely vanished from his eyes. "Thinking quite far ahead, aren't you?"
"It's called delayed gratification, you guys..." Vivienne tried to explain, but suddenly realized that Julian and Alaric's faces had darkened to a terrifying degree. Julian, in particular, had his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles were white.
Why were they acting like someone had died?
Alaric felt a massive headache throbbing at his temples. He couldn't believe someone this stubbornly impenetrable actually existed.
Vivienne's internal alarms blared. She pressed herself flush against the back of her chair. "Why are you all acting so serious?"
Looking at her gave Alaric a migraine. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Are you actually going to change?"
Vivienne nodded vigorously. "Yes."
Alaric exhaled sharply. "Fine. Sign The Behavioral Contract."
Another contract?! Why was he using the exact same playbook as Julian?
Vivienne swallowed her rage and forced a dazzling smile. "Of course." She turned her head. "Marissa, bring the boys some paper and a pen."
Marissa frantically rushed from the kitchen to the study, grabbing a pen and paper before handing them to Alaric.
Alaric took the pen. Without a moment of hesitation, his handwriting flowed aggressively across the page as he drafted ten strict rules.
Vivienne reached out to take it, but Alaric calmly handed the paper to Cyril. "See if there's anything else that needs adding."
"..."
Cyril skimmed the list, picked up the pen, added a single line, and passed it to Julian. Julian didn't hold back. In one fluid motion, he brought the total up to a full twenty rules. Only after confirming there were absolutely no loopholes did he slide it across the table to her.
Vivienne kept her face completely deadpan as she took the contract. She was one breath away from having a stroke!
Ha! How utterly ruthless!
The first three rules were somewhat understandable.
She had to terminate all arrangements with the escorts, never set foot in an adult entertainment club, and surrender her phone and bank cards as evidence.
But what on earth was the rest of this garbage?!
